It would certainly have helped to have 1 under our belts. But you can not shift a game up. Prior to the schedule being released would have been the time to schedule it. Another L for the previous regime.

Florida state found a way to make it work. Why couldn’t LSU? Playing an easy opponent week zero would have probably resulted in an LSU victory last night!

In regards to Southern, it may not have been possible, idk. But anyone who says it was impossible to schedule another team ahead of yesterday is just stupid. The day your first opponent schedules another team a week ahead of you its someone job to IMMEDIATELY start the process of you scheduling someone for that week. This game was on the scheduling dept or anyone in charge of watching this as much as it is on our players and coaches. They are just stupid or just overconfident.

Who on our schedule this year plays in Hawaii?
Florida State - Duquesne was scheduled in February 2021. We probably already had our schedule finalized by then.
We have our current schedules through 2024 finalized already but we do have one open slot in 2025 when we open vs Clemson. Clemson, on the other hand, has all 12 games scheduled in 2025 so maybe we can schedule a week 0 game by then

Schedules can be changed at the drop of a hat. Even if it takes paying someone extra, they can be changed. Just a lazy administration.

No, they can’t be. What the frick are you blabbering about? Hawaii and the teams they play in a given season give you only a handful of potential options to schedule. That’s just reality, whether you like it or not. Waiving money around won’t change it.

Y’all are being such ignorant, irrational bitches. Florida State’s players dominated our players and their coaches dominated our coaches. Their playing a week early had little to do with it. We got beat. Quit grasping for excuses and looking for other things to blame besides the ones staring you in the face
Also, T-Bob dropped a nice stat last night and this morning. Teams that play a Week 0 game only win about 40% of their Week 1 games against teams that didn’t play Week 0. It is simply a wake as frick excuse. This game was almost 100% on our coaches—they had a terrible plan and didn’t have the team prepared at all. Florida State’s coaches took them behind the woodshed amd spanked their hiney. They are not who they told us they were for the past 8 months.
