LSU getting preliminary information on expanding the South EZ UD, which would put Tiger Stadium at around 105,000

Construction could start late 2011 or late 2012.

However, the addition of a South UD may require LSU to switch to field turf due to more sun blockage.

I also heard that PETA had finally gotten LSU to get rid of Mike.

From what I've heard, I would renovate the stadium before adding more to it.

Then again, maybe that's part of this expansion.

that would likely not be the case. May have to switch the type of grass, but it will still be grass. Hell there is grass growing in indoor stadiums.

I have some weeds they can transplant from my yard. That shite laughs at round up I can't imagine it would have a problem with poor sunlight.

That's the student end, correct? I have a hard time seeing LSU get 12-14,000 more seats in that endzone, considering the current structure. Granted my background is in environmental engineering, but I know a little about structures.

Student end is the north...the addition will wrap around the SEZ and match/meet with the east and west upper decks

It's the other endzone and if you build it properly (see Penn State), you can fit a good amount in.

I'm sure they wouldn't do it if it wasn't going to put us back ahead of bama like we should be

Alabama played in two stadium until 2004. BDS is only just recently getting the facelift it deserves.

Time for Bama to re-number the seats in BD. 109,000 easy.

Pretty sure BD has a similiar problem with not enough sun. I know there were some concerns about it back last summer.

Not sure how they solved the problem, but they obviously did.

Regardless, you've got no place left to expand. When we finish both the NEZ and SEZ, Death Valley will be at least 112-114k.

Tiger Stadium is one of, if not the, premier stadium in college football, and I'm glad our Administration is serious about taking steps to protect that. There is no excuse whatsoever for a division foe to be allowed to make a run on that claim. Alabama has made tremendous upgrades to BDS, it's no longer a joke up there. But we're going to respond here pretty soon.
