No crow to be eaten here. Your team plays in a ridiculously weak conference and you beat likely the worst team in that league. You strugggled for 37 minutes in that game and needed a fumble in the redzone to stop them from taking the lead in the 3rd quarter.

Keep claiming great wins over shitty teams, then use your success in the weakest of the BCS conferences (by a mile) to bolster your legitimacy as candidates to join the SEC.

Actually WVU does not have a weak schedule as it had Penn state, Miami, VT on it every year for years when PSU was elite. Cuse was very tough as well.

Yes the BE sucks now, but WVU has scheduled good teams ooc. regrettably we had 3 years under stew between rrod and DH. and we got LSU in game 4 of the DH era.

WVU beat OU and sec champ UGA(after they waxed lsu btw) in the georgia dome in bcs bowls. we beat VT 2 of last 4 before we got pat white/slaton. shrug.

Under DH WVU is going to be a very good football program. Just like it was under rrod. If WVU was in the sec that would be a major boost to wvu's recruiting and make wvu a power in the area.

WVU is not getting offers to conferences not because of its football team(hoops team was in final four 2 years ago), but because it has a small number of tv sets in its home state.

there is nothing wvu can do to change that fact. But tv ratings also produce money, and wvu does enjoy good tv ratings for its games.

LSU is my 2nd fav team having lived in new orleans many years.

/peace. great win over hated Gators and Tebow pass was awesome.

So has Boise State. Hell, they've got more legitimate OOC wins lately than WVU has through their golden years under Rich Rod.

Bingo. They bring nothing to the table outside of a decent football program and good basketball program.

They are academically weaker than any SEC school that is currently in the conference.

There are more reasons not to bring in WVU than to bring them in.

exactly Geaux,

everyone is nitpicking WVU's football strength, but the fact is had they upset LSU it likely would not have changed much. WVU would be 6-0. higher ranked.

But WVU has been there and done that. And I think most realize that WVU in the SEC will be a killer in 3-4 years with sec recruiting. WVU will compete for the East.

But expansion seems to be all about how many cable subscribers you bring to the table. I am not sure winning the Sugar Bowl this year helps WVU's cause that much. shrug.

Um, they would not compete because they don't play defense.

8 new staers on defense this year. in baton rouge the year before, wvu had a top 10 ranked defense.

again, wvu can only do so much with the recruits it gets against the likes of LSU this year. Last year WVU's defense was fairly stout and lsu only got 1 td, and that on a 5 yard drive caused by a turnover.

WVU has had a pretty decent defense over the years. The year they spanked OU in the fiesta they shut down sam bradford and company until the game was out of reach. i think OU had 6 points at the half.

Again though, in the sec wvu would take recruits from VT, Pitt, and a few from psu and osu they are not getting now. since the sec takes nonqualifiers, wvu would benefit immediately by that rule change as well. the be changed the rule, over wvu's objection, because of wvu. A lot of WVU's best players under rrod were non qualifiers.

Not p white/slaton though. they were good students.

Number 18 defense in the nation, and that with 8 new starters.. WV typically has a good defense. No depth returned this year.

Your defense is solid, but gets a lot of bump from playing in the Big East and a weak OOC for the most part. Think about the fact you have 5 OOC games, and playing shitty offensive teams doesn't make them great.

You aren't going to get more recruits by being in the SEC. Sorry. It doesn't work that way. You'll be the team furthest from everyone else in the conference and be 3 states away from 4 of your 6 divisional opponents and bring t he same issues Mizzou would have in that regard.

WVU will suffer competitively going to the SEC or ACC. They simply aren't that good to handle week in and week out playing those types of team, just like a Boise St.

That doesn't mean WVU can't be a decent program in the SEC, but they'll at best be #5 in the conference because I can't see them surpassing UF, UGA, LSU, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas and A&M on a regular basis. I can see a coupe here and there, but no, you won't be a competitor for divisional titles, much less conference titles.

Your coach is also a nutjob as are many of your fans. You are not better than A&M and even their fans realistically realize where they will stand in the SEC pecking order and they have the state of Texas to recruit.

No, it wouldn't necessarily get better. Sorry to tell you that. You may get a player a year more for it, but you are more than a player away from being a legitimate player in the SEC.

Name one team that we couldn't beat in the SEC East this year? You can't.

This year? Ummm.. USCe, UF before the Brantley injury, and UGA would all beat you.

especially if you have to play them mixed in with the likes of LSU, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas, MSU on a weekly basis.

haha. Right. ECU put up 37 on USC and UGA barely beat a lousy UT team.

Some of you WVU fans are really delusional, I'll give you that.

Your best win is against a Maryland team that got embarrassed by freaking Temple.

We've done what we've had to do with our schedule with the exception of the LSU game.

And some stats for you.....

WVU vs LSU

533 Total Yards, 21 Points, and 28 First Downs

LSU vs. Miss ST., Kentucky, Florida Combined

561 Total Yards, 24 Total Points, and 35 First Downs

So don't act like we can't compete or suck

Seriously dude. You still living off those passing yards to justify how good y'all are?

How about the fact MSU only lost by 13 or half of what you lost by.

Despite starting a true freshman in his first start, UF only lost by 4 more points on the road than you lost by at home to the same team.

our problem when if we moved to the SEC would be depth at first but after a couple years we would be deep enough to be just fine
