But WVU has been there and done that. And I think most realize that WVU in the SEC will be a killer in 3-4 years with sec recruiting. WVU will compete for the East.
I don't understand why everyone thinks joining the SEC with bring you "sec" recruits to the likes of lsu, florida, and bama. Ask vandy, ole miss, and kentucky about all their "sec" recruits they've been getting over the last few years. There's alot more to it. You can't just be a decent team, join the SEC and think you'll become a world beater because you think your recruiting is going to take off.

I think some of the things you are missing:
1. nonqualifiers. That would be huge for WVU. WVU had them under RROD but cant get them now in the BE as the BE changed the rule. In the SEC WVU can get nonqualifiers again. That means 3-5 more studs a year we can take from ohio state/penn state they cant recruit.
2. WVU already recruits md well, but not as good as PSU. in the SEC, recruits will be more willing to go to WVU than PSU. Neither are close to home, and the SEC is a better football oonf.
3. WVU also recruits Virginia heavily, but loses out to VT on most everyone VT wants. If WVU is in the SEC, that trumps the ACC. That will result in a couple of recruits wvu takes from vt every year.
4. It adds up. WVU recruits several states, including florida and texas. much easier to sell sec than BE.
Can wvu out recruit uga or florida? Of course not.
But WVU can upgrade its talent in a big way from what it has.

I'm not saying that they're better teams. Just proving the point that joining the SEC doesn't mean you will bring in top 10 recruiting classes every year.

i doubt we will ever bring in a top 10 class, but if we are already a better program with the type of player we get now, just a move to the SEC will get us better depth to compete week in and week out
