I don't get the hate.

They have a great program historically, it couldn't make more sense geographically, AND (most importantly) they'd keep UF in check recruiting-wise in Florida.

Sounds great to me! What am I missing?

if by historically you mean the last 30 years

but I would like FSU in, too.

I give more credence to the last 30 years than the 50 before that when it comes to relevance today.

See Notre Dame & Yale.

oh I agree that FSU has had a great program in my lifetime, I just think older than 30 years when someone says "historically"

would be a great addition, unfortunately it looks less and less likely

there is a difference between "hating" and realizing that
a) uf will try to block
b) slive said new additions will add to the sec footprint, fsu doesnt do that
and c) $20m buyout to get out of acc

Would love to have FSU, but I don't have the vote - UF hold the cards on this one.

But I'm sensing a bunch on non-UF fans who would hate on this move.

Not saying it COULD happen, but I'm for it.

They will make up things about UF blocking...which is ridiculous. They werent going to block them in the 90s they arent going to block them now. They play them every year FSU already recruits well and with ACC expansion the money would be similar as well. The only thing is the "SEC" sell to recruits, but if FSU keeps an easier route to a NC its a moot point in my opinion because they are on their way back up.

The SEC wants them. The question is do they want us

I am against any expansion but if we must I'd be for Clemson and okie schools.

I'd bet UGA's problems could be traced to USC expansion. Clemson could hurt both UGA and USC

Okies hurt no one in recruiting. Aggy hurts Arkie and LSU recruiting. Take it to the bank

The same reason it will change TAMU's recruiting: the draw of playing in the best conference in the country, against the best competition in the country.

These kids want to go pro, son!

I don't think there are many who oppose it.

It's the number one target for the SEC.

And why would UF try to block this? Where are you all getting this from? If they didn't want them, they would have opposed the invitation in the 90s.

FSU was ranked in the top 5 in 2011, in recruiting and out recruited Florida!

I get the feeling that was one of those "unanimous" votes that wasn't really unanimous

you don't vote yes on that after exploring your options the week before

if they want it bad enough, it's well worth the $20 million

I too agree that UF people that don't want them for recruiting reasons make too big a deal out of it. FSU is an ACC team and had the #1 recruiting class last year and are trending up...it's not gonna get much better than that.

FSU is the most natural fit and should be the 14th team
