Will we get a new championship format?

What about all the teams that didnt make it into the super conferences? Are they just SOL?

probably not...but it will be screaming for a four-team playoff, with each of the conference champions vying for the title.

The NCAA as an organization will start getting bitch-slapped by the super conferences, that's what will happen.

I am afraid that is what will happen. Not that I have any love for the NCAA, but I like the basketball and baseball formats. It wouldn't be hard to imagine a scenario where these "super" conferences screw that up.

The BCS + Big xii not splitting revenue equally is probably why this all ended up this way to begin with. If there was a playoff in college football like every other sport in the universe, then everything might have ended up alright. But there is way too much money involved in college football. And mo money, mo problems, mo greed.... Bottom line, blame the University of Texas. It can really all be pointed back to them. I hope they're happy.

It's funny how people think the playoff format would be less of an antitrust concern. That's exactly where this is moving and it's making the relevant market even smaller.

Having 16 teams in one conference is crazy IMO. There will be rivals in the other division you won't play against for years. I think what will happen eventually is the winners of the 4 conferences will play a final four.

where is it going...????

straight to congress who is gonna bitch slap these conferences. BCS is not antitrust but if this move happens and the 4 champions play to decide a champion congress is gonna bitch slap the superconferences back to the stone age.

"BCS is not antitrust?" I don't think you understand the subject.

uhhh no i dont think you do. BCS was not anittrust. might wanna do some research on it. it did not exclude any member. in no way shape or form did it violate any part of the antitrust law.

the new system would though.

With 4 16 team superconfereces, you'll have the winner of each conference go into a 4 team playoff for the NC.

It would be the most fair and the best way to get a true champion.

This sentence doesn't even make sense.

Second, I'm not here stating that the current structure is a violation of the Sherman Act. I'm saying that moving to four 16 team conference and instituting some type of hybrid playoff is more of an antitrust problem, which is funny because Dan Patrick and all these other people cry about how a playoff is less of an antitrust concern, which isn't true.
