OU is not a realistic option unless the Pac-12 screws the pooch and doesn't take them along with Okie St

West Virginia makes about as much sense as Houston, SMU, and Rice

our options are limited

why are we not including OU?

ou/osu package deal.
also, i think everyone assumes ou and osu are pac12 bound.

I also don't know why we don't think about adding teams like Houston, Rice, or SMU

i mean if we're looking at fricking Missouri, then quality of football program is irrelevant

mizzou brings at least a part of 2 markets. uh and rice bring nothing, as aTm has a far larger presence in houston than those two.

smu or tcu is an option.

well then it's independent (which i don't think they want to do)

I'm not sure about that. If they join a new conference they have to play games outside the state of Texas.

Last 5 years- these are the only games they've played outside the state of Texas

So we should think about Houston or Rice and not WVU? What sense does that make?

what in the frick does WV do for the SEC?

it doesn't add a good football team or a market or anything, really

Maybe the SEC is thinking outside the box and courts Rutgers? It'd be great so far as geographic reach/ TV markets is concerned

if the pac12 takes OSU and OU i'll be shocked. the academic argument will be officially out the window

Houston/Rice + TAMU pretty much gives the SEC SETX

Houston has about the same potential as WV and Rice helps us with academics (plus the west needs its own vandy)

TAMU by itself gives you that market. Don't need rice or houston. Come on SFP...

14 teams- A&M and Virginia Tech

16 teams- A&M, Mizz, VT, WVU

I don't like the expansion thing, but we need to make a push now while everything is saking up.

Don't want to have to scramble later on for leftovers.

tamu does this by itself. rice/uh would be useless

if that is your logic, smu or tcu makes more sense.

I agree with that - but think our options are likely limited even if we wait for a few years

Rutgers has great football history

they'd almost be worth it for the TV markets alone

come on SFP they have more fans than uh or rice. hell LSU has more fans in houston than those 2.

you have zero argument that uh/rice would be a better option than tcu/smu

They can come join the ACC pain train. At least 2nd best conference in basketball and baseball, and still an AQ even if shitty at football
