They get the best recruits year in and year out, the very reason they aren't as good on a yearly basis is that they don't play the tough games week in and out. When they start doing that..................LOOK OUT!!!

It's pretty easy to rack up big stats when you only have to get up for 1 or 2, or in a good year, 3 games.

OK...but they don't want to...

The un-official non-fact based talk is UT is a prima donna and they don't want to go heads up with the VAST SEC talent...even if A&M goes there...

On the Aggie site they are reporting 3 reagents want the SEC... unofficial of course.

Probably true, but they can handle the PAC-whatever much more easily.

Dont need or want Texas in the SEC West, a smarter move for LSU (and easier on the football team) would be to take Houston and the #4 TV market they bring. Also would help with the recruiting of the area which is loaded.

It would be Bama, Lsu, Ou, and Texas in the west because OU and Texas are sticking together.

This has nothing to do with althletics and whether or not Texas is 12-0 at the end of the regular season. This is about $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and power. The PAC10 will do what it takes to get Texas. The SEC won't. In the SEC they would be treated just like the smaller schools are treated. No better - no worse.

This would not be in LSU's best interest IMO.

for real.. i understand not liking Texas, but to act like they arent good is crazy.. imo, they are one of about 3 teams in the country that could join the SEC and compete for the league title immediately..

The Rant would be in meltdown mode if Les Miles had to go up against Saban, Stoops, and Brown every year.

I really wouldn't mind joining the SEC except for that vague general "feeling" about the conference. Rationally it is a great fit. It'd make for fun football, plenty of great baseball, and we could just as easily implode in basketball in the SEC as we could in the Big 12.

I was very resistant to the idea before, but there are not too many logical reasons not to join. As to whether we could handle the SEC, I'd feel the same as going anywhere else. The Big 12 South was always a tough division, even if the Big 12 it self wasn't that tough.
