You can debate this all you want, but it's an argument you will never win, because WVU lost to a sucky Pitt team. LSU was a much more deserving team than WVU. The selection committee doesn't make their decisions based on who would match up best with who. This all goes back to my original point that a playoff system would be better. We wouldn't be having these debates, because it would finally get settled on the field.
Amen, playoffs please!
And how did this thread become a debate about 2007?
Back to the OP, the vote today may have been a cover, or it may have been a slap in the face to Slive.
If it is a vote for status quo, it was because Slive tied Florida State to Texas A&M, and Florida wasn't having it.
UF must have been working the phones overtime.

He further said Sunday's meeting of the 12 SEC member presidents was held in order to prepare for the possibility of such an application and determine the criteria and steps associated with any potential expansion. Pastides, speaking after USC's New Student Convocation at the Coliseum, said the league presidents "love" the current conference landscape, but that it was necessary to drop what they were doing and hold such a meeting in order to best plan for the league's best interest in the future. Regarding rumors of Texas A&M's desire to leave the Big 12 Conference and join the SEC, Pastides said the proverbial "ball" is in the school's "court."

I think I said something about how I wanted a playoff cause I wanted the 2 best teams, not 2 teams who were set up or fell into the right place at the right time. I mentioned how close WVU came to making the NCG in 07, and how LSU was the better team. Then somebody said WVU would have beat LSU cause of the matchups, and we got in a debate.
