I really don't know where all of this academic talk is coming from, this entire expansion is ALL about TV and money. to think otherwise is just plain naive.
the UT board that everyone is posting on is full of people who are trying to justify a move to any other conference. in the end, the move won't improve the teams on the field and the country will still believe that the SEC is the best conference in the land, IN FOOTBALL because this is what this entire debacle is about.

Funny. I live in Austin and work at an office with about 1800 people. I am from Monroe and I don't watch Nascar. Almost all the people from Austin that I work closely with are huge Nascar fans. I tell them I don't get it and they say it is a Texas thing. Not to mention Dallas has a Nascar track.
