I wish some of you couldve heard Goeff Ketchum yesterday eating crow when the LHN launched with about as much fanfare as your weekly garbage pick-up. It was awesome

So it's on now? Did not hear anything about it.

I'm sorry, do you not subscribe to one of the powerhouse cable titans in your area?

Verizon Fios
Consolidated Communications
Bay City Cablevision
Mid-Coast Cablevision
Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision
En-Touch Systems
E-Tex Communications

wow!! look at that coverage!! Boy ole Boy, it must be a dream to be a shrimper right now - just look at what you've got a chance to come to!!

seriously, in that list you could replace the word "cablevision" with "wrestling" and it draw more attention

Nope...don't get those!

Maybe somebody really big like Jefferson-Pilot will pick them up some day.

That's what I find really funny. Even in their own backyard, the LHN is a failure. Were any of the ESPN College Gameday guys on the LHN launch? That has to be the ONLY reason they're in Austin right now.

The launch was only available to 20,000 households, no telling how many of them actually watched it.

Texas wants to be separated from TAMU almost as much.

That's just their emotional reaction, a defensive one. To quote a Houston journalist, UT is "sickeningly arrogant" (Richard Justice column last week) and A&M is tired of it. They, and OU, are the only ones with enough stature to do something about it. And OU is happy to have UT as their whipping boy. And UT is just delusional enough to think they aren't OU's whipping boy.

Now UT's perceived whipping boy, A&M, is likely headed off to a superior conference, leaving UT with egg on their face and, thus far, a network that isn't be carried anywhere.

I wonder how long ESPN will continue to push a Longhorn Network with powerhouse games like UT vs. Rice, UT vs. Baylor, UT vs. Iowa State. Because they are never, ever, ever gonna get a decent game to show.

Herbstreit was on, I think. There was an article in the Houston paper yesterday with his picture. ESPN has invested 300MM on the success of the venture, so they'll push it as much as they can.

Exactly, outside of diehards and some casual fans, who wants to watch it? How much is ESPN going to pour into this thing before they pull the cord? Logically it's so stupid. Espn is just wasting money on production and advertising.

I hereby give TAMU permission to use Rammer Jammer and LSU's U SUCK cheer hence forth against Texas.

Bonus: You can also move your band throughout visiting sections in the 3rd quarter and play rocky top over and over again.

that is exactly the point many have been trying to make lately, except most UT fans are too myopic to see it

Finally, this morning at work, one of my good friends - who is a diehard Longhorn Fan - was the first I've heard to admit to this. The lackluster launch of the LHN has humbled many a Bevo fan in the last 24 hours

Longhorns are a bunch of prima donna, spoiled brats, who think the universe revolves around them. They think they are God's greatest gift to humanity, and when they don't get their way they try to manipulate and throw hissy fits. Texas A&M is doing this because this is the most feasible, long term solution. The Big 12 is a sinking ship. The SEC will be good to A&M, and A&M will be good for the SEC. Its a two way street. We are not doing this to stick it to Texas. We are doing this for Texas A&M.

Of course though the sip media spin machine will make sure everybody thinks that A&M is the bad guy. The one that wants to destroy the conference, even though t.u was about to migrate to the Pac 10 last summer. Bunch of hypocrites.

The Horns will be in PAC # in two years claiming that their real rivals are Stanford and Cal for academics, and athletics. Some how they were not offered to be a Big 10 member to compete with Michagan and Northwestern in academics and athletics.
But ultimately they see themselves with Rice,Vandy,Duke,Northwestern,Stanford,Notre Dame and Cal in the same conference with an automatic BCS.

Texas fans these days were born on third base and thump their chest feeling like they just hit a triple

Also, how many Longhorns does it take to change a lightbulb?

Just one, but he just stands there with the buld and waits for the world to revolve around him

Actually the answer is zero. Changing light bulbs is beneath him. He orders Baylor to do it, and Baylor complies without question.

Except for the beating Les has taken on Austin sports radio (this happened more on the zone), it's been a great week here in the capital city.

I only flip over to the zone occasionally, but twice this week within minutes of flipping over I heard a jab at Les. I think it was Craig Way both times.

This was in the middle of the week, when the LSU fight was the big story.

First... they were talking about the most overated college football coaches... the first thing they said was (not word for word) "we'd like to hear your opinions about this... Les Miles? Let us know your choice."

Next... they were talking specifically about the fight. They were giving the most recent update about it. something like "Miles has said that swift and serious action will be taken... but this isn't true... if it was he would have already done something."

I've only been here since 2006, but I have a hunch Les did something while he was at OK State that really pissed off the jocks in Austin. I've heard all of them at some point take their shots.

You have any insight into this?
