Why have a meeting when it will be ineffective?

they cant stop anything.

Rick Perry probably told him whats up and threatned a few political opportunities.

So they can tell the UT faithful, "Well, we tried!"

Wow, this conspiracy just gets deeper and deeper. Now, the Texas legislature is in on the smokescreen with A&M and the SEC!

Board of Regents gave the green light to Dr. R. Bowen Loftin.

The problem with law makers is when they get elected into office, they are all of the sudden an expert on EVERYTHING!

You would think they would want their programs competing in different conferneces. This way their is the possibility of multiple conference titles & BCS bowls/championships available for state schools in the same year.

Political suicide if they tried to blOck the move.

All that's left now is to figure out some legalities like what the exit fee is. Reported $10-30 mil. I'm pretty sure with UTa's action it'll be closer to $10

I'd throw in Dan Beebe's dumb statement about how the Big 12 will survive without A&M but couldn't survive the loss of Texas.

When the conference commissioner is saying, in weasel-ese, "Don't let the door hit you", it's hard to claim much in the way of damages when they take him up on that offer.

Have to disagree. The political "darlings" are Baylor. & Tech. This committee will convene at midnight tonight to protect their interest. If there is a chance of the Big twelve imploding it will look like the deficit debacle! Texas politics & football - what a show.

If there is no Big 12 there is no one to pay exit fees.
