Everything about a move to the SEC makes sense for them..

1. Out of UT shadow
2. Recruiting advantage
3. Television advantage (whats more likely to be on TV in Dallas, TAMU vs Alabama or Texas vs Oregon St?

really, the list goes on.. let UT go to the PAC 10.. then its:

1. UT isnt Texas proud anymore, they succumbed to the liberals in California
2. While Texas is out in AZ and Oregon and Washington, TAMU is being watched by all the OM, Arkansas, LSU, etc. grads that now live in Houston and Dallas..

shite, if i'm TAMU, i cut a deal with the SEC where i tell Texas im going to the PAC 10 with them, then go to the SEC at the last minute.. just to frick UT..

and TAMU wins a huge victory if Texas AND Oklahoma AND Ok St AND TT go out west.. guess who is the Texas university that actually plays regional competition..

Exactly-- UT is on the same level with all those weird tree-huggers from Cal-Berkeley anyway..

for real.. let UT and TT go ahead and drop their games with TAMU.. it hurts them as much as TAMU.. the difference is that TAMU could then annually play Arkansas in Dallas and LSU in Houston..

Good point. DFW has one of the largest Auburn alumni bases in the country. I would assume that it's the same for other schools.

TAMU will continue to suck if they join the SEC.

The only game there anyone cares about is the one against OU - every 10 years maybe the other two schools rate a tick on the spectrum of national interest

The LSU AA in this area got big enough to split into 2, Dallas County & Tarrant County, & wouldn't doubt there could be a Collin County at some point.

DFW has a large SEC following, & it would explode if aTm joins.

If they go to the pac 10 they will always be behind Texas and OU. A&M needs something different to pitch to recruits then Texas and OU.

im pretty sure the alumni base in Houston goes something like:

1. TAMU
2. UT
3. LSU

with Rice and UH in there also..

It seems like the Aggie fans talk about joining the SEC, but are willing to follow what Texas wants. I didn't realize how powerful UT is in that state and Oklahoma.

Drummer what are your A&M buddies thinking right now... I know your allegiance is to the SEC and AU, but what is the word from A&M?

I disagree. aTm has every bit the resources that Texass has, and with a fresh start in the SEC, they could being a return to serious competition.

TROOF. Austin is a pretty liberal college town.
