T. Boone Pickens #Big12 - if you want to talk expansion you have to think TCU. If you want to talk bigger, Houston makes sense. Even bigger? Rice and SMU.

Call it the Southwest Conference.

And then Mizzou, Kansas, K-State and Iowa State can join the B1G and you'll have one big happy Midwest conference called the Big 16.

Works for me.

He needs to stay out of it.

HE is part of the Big 12 problem. To many people trying to drive the bus. Huge egos cant be stopped.

Texas ATm has some huge money boosters, but thankgod none of them get involved the way T Boone does.

If the Big 12 were to reach out and grab TCU, Southern Florida, Louisville, BYU, and West Virginia they could be their own megaconference - with an enormous footprint and number of potential television sets to draw from

You would see that place pretty packed if SMU was playing in the Big 12...

I agree that it would fill up quite a bit more if they were in an AQ conference like the Big 12 or SEC.

SMU fans are a bit on the bandwagoner side (hard to blame them for that post death penalty) They have been doing better in attendance since June Jones has started to turn them around.

Actually, SMU would be ok with me as a 14th. You'd get games in Dallas for SEC teams to nab recruits with and now that their administration actually cares about being decent again they would probably throw far more resources into the program to at least be competitive.

I can't imagine how pissed TCU would be if they made the SEC though.

You should be banned for suggesting SMU to join the SEC.

he is right..

they can get TCU to come in for a decent TV deal percentage..

they could get Houston, Rice and SMU in for almost nothing..

the way that conference is structured, thats exactly what they need.

I think many visiting fan would help to fill the stadium, which isn't very big.

back in the day

Back in the day they paid the best players to come to SMU. Now that it's harder to pay players, there's plenty of vacancies.
