I don't know why some SEC fans are giving A&M fans so much crap. At least let them get in the conference and give us a reason to be pissed at them.
Because a lot of us live in Texas and have plenty of exposure to Aggies as it is already.

I can see that "Mississippi's College Town" is strangely missing.

That's just the central part of campus. We have approximately two nice collegiate looking buildings, surrounded by acres of ugly arse buildings designed in whatever the newest modern fashion is at the time.
But there are plenty of typical college bars and hangouts around town, as well as sprawling residential neighborhoods like any small city.
Of course there isn't as much to do as Austin, but Austin is a city with a big university in it, not a college town. I wanted to go spend a few years in a college town. That's why A&M and a couple sec schools were the only ones I was ever interested in attending.

frick the haters. College Station is a college town. Its a place to drink beer and get laid. If you want culture its a short drive to Houston, Austin, or Dallas. All you nancies talkin about pretty buildings and crap, very gay.
Seriously though, you have to remember that A&M has a unique history. It went from an all male military college to one of the largest coed public universities in the country in a relatively short amount of time. The architecture is somewhat of a hodge podge due to growth in different eras. The town is centered around the university. Texas A&M is the downtown district of College Station, and the outlying area is essentially the burbs.
Now what most people don't realize is that Bryan is literally adjacent to CS with no real physical boundary. Bryan is much more of a typical city. Combined B/CS population is over 200K people. Downtown Bryan is much more scenic and rather large for typical smaller Texas' city downtowns.
Bryan aint the greatest place in the world either, but most college cities are not in major metropolitan areas either.
So if you ever make it down for a game, there are plenty of places to sit down and drink a beer, but if you start whining about culture or pretty buildings, you're gonna have to GTFO.

Another college town that made the Southern Living Best College Towns list is Morgantown, WV. Something to consider
