Alliigning conferences makes it less complicated for a BCS playoff system IMO. Bottom line is winning SEC divisions, championships, or BCS just became exponentially more difficult

My feelings exactly! I can live with A&M or Mizz but bringing in FSU and Oklahoma is just ludicrous.

I'm not old enough to remember but I'm sure most felt the same way when Arkansas and USCe joined

IMO, none of these teams are automatic wins each year. Do you guys not feel like this is even more difficult hurdles to get over in conference than what we have already? The conference is already absolutely brutal. You add these teams and everyone will be even more beat up than what they are now.
I dont agree with this. All the teams will still play 8 conference games. So I dont see how the schedule will be tougher. I mean sure you may miss out on grabbing a vandy or an ole miss from the other side of the conference, but thats about it. BUt however in others years you will pull a decent team like clemson or atm and get out of playing a Florida Bama or LSU. I really dont think its going to be much harder.

"At some point there will be a playoff and the 4 super conference winners will be a part of it."
At that point it becomes NFL lite.

I just don't like it from a traditional standpoint. I like the current rivalries, the current 12-team setup. It was a close knit bunch.
We had the 'we are better than the world' mentality. Everything was fine. Nothing was broken, so what is there to fix? adding these teams doesn't DO anything but give them space to take up.

:kige:
It took 20 years for the Pac 10 to expand to 12 teams.
It took 20 years for the Big 1G to expand to 12 teams.
I believe the rest of the conferences will take a "wait and see" approach to further expansion, just like they did last time.
This overstep will end the SEC as we know and love it.
I hate that.

You rang?
IMHO, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech would be the only additions...if the conference gets too large, non-conference games will be pathetic for the rest of eternity.

Grow a pair... if your team is worthy of a national championship then you'll win it no matter who you play.
IMO, this will just make it easier for the SEC champion to be automatically penciled into the championship game.
If you want to play a bunch of meaningless games... the Big12 has room.

Exactly, and we'll still have dbags in the media saying we play soft OOC

The SEC is already tough. With at least three of those teams being higher quality football teams, I'll be shocked if you ever see a 1-loss SEC Champion again. And it certainly makes it tough on the bottom half of the SEC, even though I think we could beat Clemson and Mizzou on the regular.
I'm not real crazy about the way it'll effect basketball either. The addition of 4 teams is going to lead to some very Big East-esque scheduling and I pretty much hate that.

The more I think about it...I hope this shite falls through. We don't need any more newcomers...frick em.
Let them rot in their own shite.
Besides...to any people who have he old school mentality, it's weird as it is with Nebraska and Oklahoma being split. It's going to be more messed up when the Longhorns and Aggies don't have a T-Day tilt.
What may be good for the SEC is bad for college football. This is the equivalent of Auburn and Alabama splitting conferences. It's bullshite.
Unfortunately, the big business of college football is rearing its ugly head agaian...

Am I the only one that doesn't like this? The SEC is expanding to include Florida St., Clemson, aTm, and Mizzou.
I hate it but just to make it clear Mizzou has said they are not interested.

The problem is that the other conferences know the SEC is the best and they are going to snatch up the other teams to form the super conferences, so the SEC has to act or be left behind.
This is the exact reason why the SEC should grab quality schools to come in now. When the other conferences start grabbing up schools we don't want to be left with the crap. The last thing I would want for the SEC is for the Big10 or PAC to catch up to us in prestige.
As for the schools I have no problem with aTm. I don't know about Missouri, hell there almost in Canada!!! Who the hell wants to go up to that shite hole to see a game. I guess you could do some ice fishing or something or make snow angles.

I hope your kidding
Mizzou is a beautiful campus...U do know Missouri is the state above Arkansas right?

Lee Corso (sucking SEC teet) circa 2013: "I don't care whose undefeated, a 3-loss SEC team should play for the national title! Clemson, TAMU, Florida State, VATech...not to mention those Mississippi schools....geez."
That's the problem with this super conference idea - everybody has to go or nobody. There's going to be way too much subjective bias and hypothesizing about what exactly does a 3 or 4 loss SEC team equal? It's already ridiculous as it is.

I agree. Plus if you get one of the tougher guys from the other division you just don't go out and scedule a tough OOC.
Side note, did LSU see this coming? was Towson just a filler? Hopefully theywill be replaced by aTm.
