The hamsters powering the TD.com server would be dead inside of 3 minutes of "Tiger Rag" debate starting.

Can you imagine the bullshite bantering between LSU and Clemson fans for the 'real' death valley? The Rant would be epic.

Virginia Tech is the most logical addition....brings in another large state with a fan base in the Washington-Baltimore corridor....
Georgia Tech left the SEC back in the 60's....they should not be allowed back....
Clemson is a waste of time for the SEC....
North Carolina would be an interesting addition if adding two teams to the east....

VT...a new market and a strong academic and athletic program.

All you would have to do is read any of these thousands of threads, but fine.
First off, Expansion is about conference prestige and TV dollars. Clemson, while a decent football program, is not and will never be a contender for an SEC title much less a National title. So all youre doing with adding Clemson is adding a decent mid major program.
Secondly, We already have the SC tv market. Adding them does not improve our TV contract. Adding a team like VT adds a completely different market that includes the whole state of Virginia, Maryland and DC.
Clemson is a stupid idea because there are several programs in the East that have better programs (Miami, FSU, VT) Clemson is also in an occupied TV market. Expansion isnt about stirring up rivalry's. Its about genervating revenu and adding NC

Clemson, because we really need to have THREE teams who call themselves the Tigers and TWO Death Valleys in the same f'ing conference.

they would be the best addition if they came alone, but they wont drop Duke and probably not wake or NCS.
They would improve our basketball, baseball, and academic status greatly. They also would turn into a decent football program (already are) with SEC help. And a whole new TV market. Much better choice than Clemson. GT wouldnt be to bad because of their baseball and academics, but we need more help in basketball and we have GA's market already
