So you don't think other conferences are dramatically below the SEC (the west in particular) in difficulty? Or are you just such a dumbass that you had no idea what you're disagreeing with?

It's a fact that every other conference has two or three tough teams, some middling teams, and some bad teams. If you're one of those tough teams in a conference with only two tough teams (like Texas and OU), you've got one tough game all year long if you don't schedule one out of conference (which they generally don't). Same goes for the PAC--hell I'll even pretend USC still qualifies and say they have three with USC, Stanford, and Oregon. Everyone else is middling to bad. The ACC is even worse with just VT and FSU. The Big 10 is Wisconsin and Nebraska this year. Do I even have to mention the Big East?

Why would Texas and OU be dumb enough to take TCU?

Well, I now know you aren't too bright, because you use more exclamation marks than a group of middle school girls--would you care to elaborate on why you don't think I'm very intelligent, or do you have difficulty with words?

You don't much about how much TCU hates Horns. There football and baseball now win on a national level.

Someone has to call you hillbillies for spewing this sort of nonsense. Somebody please tell Baylor about TCU winning on a national level.

Why wouldn't any self-interested school want a clearer path to the MNC?

So in one game, we win the Rose Bowl and finish #2 and higher than all the other teams not using professional players, then we lose 20 seniors, including a 4 year starting QB, our top 3 receivers, both starting tackles, our rimington award winning center, both starting corners, both safeties, our NT (all of those to the NFL, by the way), plus an all-American DE; then we lose to a top 25 team in our very next game, and all of a sudden we aren't winning on a national level? We won the fricking Rose Bowl and finished #2 in this calendar year. You look like a moron when you act like we aren't winning big games of national import.

I'm not saying you wouldn't be an overall improvement over the Ags in quality of football, I just don't like people making ridiculous claims like TCU in the Big 12 is Texas' worst nightmare. We did spend a few years in the same conference a while back.

And what was Texas' record for the last few years of the SWC, BTW?

Just by this back and forth it looks like TCU would be great in the Big 12....

Makes the most sense too.

Replace clearer with "easier." As big as Texas talks, the AD sure is acting like Texas is scared to play in a big boy conference week in and week out. Will be nice to see Texas get left out of the national championship because the strength of schedule wasn't as tough as a team in a real conference.

TCU did the right thing in upgrading to a (slightly) more competitive conference. Now if y'all prove something from that platform, you will be included in the NCG conversation without reservation. TCU was pretty legit last year. If you're that confident in your program, you don't have anything to worry about, just win the Big East. Really shouldn't be that hard.

I agree--nightmare is an overstatement. I do think Texas is very wary of having a team that can succeed in the DFW or Houston areas, which some have said was a factor (probably a minor one, if not just an ancillary benefit) in not taking SMU, TCU, or Houston to the Big 12.

You're right that Texas owned our asses in the early 90s, but that's only slightly more relevant than y'all owning us in the 70's, and us owning you in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. A lot has changed in the last decade and a half plus. We never would've dropped 10 mill for a stadium upgrade, much less built a new baseball park, a new track complex, a new soccer complex, and demo and rebuild the stadium (which alone cost 165M). Thats all on top of completely rebuilding main campus, and I don't even know how much that cost. TCU was pretty stingy back then and program suffered for it. That's not the case now. I'd really like to see the old SWC rivalry games renewed, and played in Amon Carter for the first time since 1994.

Well I'll tell you like I tell pretty much everyone else, don't hold your breath about that crystal ball leaving the Plains.
