So how are they going to make Oklahoma, Texas, and A&M reach 20 million a piece while increasing Tech and Oklahoma State to 14 - 17 million?

This is a serious question.... Being generous the big 12 will with hold 16 million for the Huskers and Buffs leaving next year based on the numbers you provided.

After that their share would come out to roughly 20 million that will still be distributed over the remaining life of the TV deal. The total revenue from this year was around 112 million dollars. So if we break down the numbers by what Bebee has promised it looks pretty crappy for the other 5 schools.

OU – 20 million
Texas – 20 million
A&M – 20 million
Texas Tech – 15 million
Oklahoma State – 15 million
Baylor – 4.3 million
Missouri – 4.3 million
Kansas State – 4.3 million
Kansas – 4.3 million
Iowa State -4.3 million

The numbers above can't be right what am I missing? All I have seen is that Bebee said TV people have promised not to change current deals. If that is the case then this sucks for half the big 12 teams.

I have read everything that Beebe has had to say on the matter and the #s don't seem to Jibe BUT they are saying that no Big 12 team will make less than $14 - $15 million. The ADs of the smaller schools seem to be confident in this happening so they must have seen #s that we haven't.....

SEC envy? A bit, I do wish Texas was in a better conference. However, I thought this was compelling after all of the posts talking about Texas taking more in TV revenue than everyone else.

That makes more sense than what Beebe has detailed so far.....

everyone knows this is temporary at best.

Texas, while back tracking because aTm didnt roll over for them, actually lucked out and made a leap forward thanks to Beebe.

They get good short term $ they were after, an easy path to the NC, and most of all they can establish their own TV network (huge).

What this does, is that some time in the next few years when this comes full circle and Texas looks to leave the Big 12-2 again, other conferences will have to accept by default, the TV network as part of the package with Texas.

theres a possibility that the network, along with their insistence on unequal revenue (biggest penis syndrome) could cement their presence in the lowly Big 12.

Good point. This could be all smoke and mirrors. I'm not sure they even know how they are going to fund this whole thing and if they can't this whole process will start over. I think it is a band aid and the Big 12 is still going to become extinct in the next few years. I don't know that I would even give it 5 years. Texas should have just become independent. They don't really care that much about conference and do not believe in equal distribution and since that is one of the main purposes of being affiliated with a conference then they should just go independent, create their own network and be done with it. The whole thing is embarrassing for the Big 12. It's only about the money. The conference did not improve itself in fact it can be argued that is was weakened and made less relevant because in most seasons it's just going to be two team battle and everyone else playing for the Carquest Bowl.

I think one of the only reasons they didn't go full-on indy is that the tie-ins for non-BCS bowls are so conference-driven that it would be a case of "BCS or bust" for them.

ND is an exception to this right now, but only because the Big East's bowl contracts say that a bowl may take ND over a Big East team once every four years.

They will be paid with "good faith" dollars, according to TAMU's AD. And he was saying that is a good thing.

the seven dwarfs of the XII - II...

Good enough to play, not good enough to pay.

poor bastards....

I dont feel sorry for one team in that shitty conference. aTm was approached by the SEC to help, and they STILL couldn't pry Texas' dick from their arse....same goes for the other eight...I'm just waiting for the implosion about the tv deal....it's gonna happen sooner than later...hook em...no...gig em...no...frick em...YES!

From your article, it states that's from 2008-2009. I don't see how we've debunked that Texas is going to get the most money in this new deal.
