There are more LSU could claim under that scenario as well, but LSU doesn't recognize those.

Why hasn't Texas been the most successful football team in its own conference?

LSUisjustOK, Thanks for the prediction about the Ags. Did you also predict shorthorns would go 5-7 last year with an ENTIRE roster full of top 5 National Recruiting classes? What's that...1 win for every 7 blue chippers? What will it take to win 10 games? A roster full of top 2 National Recruits??? Good God, what you really ought to be doing is trying to figure out that clusterfxxk that is Texas football right now and quit worrying about the Ags.

As for Notre Dame, they said "no thanks". When the Notre Dame AD was contacted and asked to comment he said "Texas who??" This was aired on the Longhorn Network... dozens of people saw it.

Here is a prediction... we have at least another 3 years worth of whining and crying to listen to from Austin. Another prediction... StubHub will melt down again with shorthorn fans burning up the internet lines trying to dump tickets halfway through the season AGAIN. Wnat another prediction.. the most dangerous place in the United States will be in front of the exit on the Texas side of the Cotton Bowl when OU smokes your arse.

Put LSU's record up against that of Texas. Historically, it isn't even close.

LSU has three national titles...including two BCS titles. You have one BCS title.

You claim four national titles, including one in a year in which you lost your bowl game.

The only SWC team with a winning record over us is SMU (0-1-1), and we haven't played them since 1934. Note: this only includes the time when these teams were in the SWC and does not include any results after the SWC went away.

Do you want to pick out a few more random points of comparison? How about head to head record and overall win percentage?

I predicted 6-6, I guess I was little optimistic. Most people around Austin that I know realized Texas was due for a down year.

overall head to head is 7-9-1. Is that what you are saying "isn't even close"?

So, head to head is practically a tie. We have only played twice in the last 50 years...both were in the Cotton Bowl and we split both games.

National titles is practically a tie...

Bowl games...you have played in 49...we have played in 42.

Again, you said "it isn't even close"...were you talking out of your butt or do you care to argue your statement?

You predicted the Hors would go 6 and 6? Seriously??? UT was ranked pretty high in the preseason and everyone around here (Austin) was predicting Gilbert to be awesome and the "running game" was supposed to rank up with OSU and other running offenses. You are delusional. Once again...Credibility FAIL!

so you're saying the ESPN bus was just passing by Austin, TX and left a $300 million contract giftwrapped on your university's doorstep.. all on a their own?

I remember reading that Texas and Fox were negotiating pretty hot & heavy and ESPN came in with the $300 million deal and blew Fox out of the water.

OU had promised to have their own network up & running this fall. They failed....is it my fault the okies are incompetent?

It's always practically a tie when you are on the losing end.

And you still won't bring up overall win loss records. Not surprising, it wouldn't bode well for you.

Wow I have never seen so much shite talking from a fanbase that failed to make a bowl and lost to the likes of ISU, BU, and UCLA AT HOME. Then they return an even worse team talent wise, with not one but two new schemes for both sides of the ball, and basically a brand new coaching staff.

You guys will be lucky to go 6-6 this year. You talk about A&M getting smacked around in the SEC when you were destroyed by teams like KSU and UCLA one short season ago.

If last season didn't give you some humble pie, I bet this one will. Its Mack's farewell tour on his way to the shite can.

Why would it? There is no reasonable answer.

I'm not saying they're going to be stealing recruits from UT, but to think A&M's recruiting won't improve is idiotic.

There is a reason that "gentleman's agreement" exists. Being the only SEC school in state is an advantage.

Let's keep some perspective. We sucked last year and we'll suck this year too because of Mack's insistence on starting Gilbert but Texas will be back. Texas has finished in the top 3 of the country 2 of the last 3 season and was in a national title game in the last calendar year. I'm not dumb enough to bash LSU like the other guy but aggie has no business talking crap to a Texas fan - no national title since 39, no top 5 finish in a half century.....aggie's program is a joke.

Really...overall record? That is what you will hang your hat on? Does anyone really give a flip about a meaningless stat like that?

Bowl record along with national titles have a lot more value in this argument Sorry, dude...but you guys are legends in your own mind.

Actually, I'm pointing out that we have a better record than LSU in every category. You just keep pointing to individual stats and saying "but this one is really close."

Fact of the matter is that the NCAA should have never allowed the LHN go forward if their purpose is supposed to police and prevent unfair advantages. You guys hold up Mack as some kind of Saint among coaches. That's BS too. A&M will leave and should leave. Texas doesn't belong in any conference. They should just become an independent. Texas doesn't give a shite about the Big 12 and could careless if it stays around or not. All they care about in the end is to surround themselves with a schedule that includes one game at the most in most years that they may not be favored in, sleep walk through puff cake schedule and demand a bid to the BCS Championship game based on beating nobody except OU. Fact of the matter is that Texas would never accept a bid to the SEC because you wouldn't be able to stomach the schedule and no team or institution would put up with your bullshite.

I think every member of the Big 12, with the exception of UTa, needs to regroup and leave UTa's arse in the Texas dust.
