All jokes aside, why is there a firesale going on in this particular conference? What happened?

I think it's all about the all mighty dollar, the Big 12 just wasn't making as much with their tv deal.

Obviously $$$$ is playing a big factor, but damn it just doesn't seem right when Colorado is jumping ship for the greener pastures of the Pac 10. Yeah, the same Pac 10 who is now looking to quickly become the first viable superconference after being this message board's whipping boy for years....

How is the Pac 10 providing a better opportunity for revenue?

If it does become a super conference then it would get amazing TV deals. Or so I suspect. It could just be a "Grass is greener on the other side" deal.

Classic bear read. The CDS spreads on the conference's debt got attacked first, and then bond vigilantes started knocking down the equity. They were forced into a prepackaged reorganization and are now desperately spinning off subsidiary assets to other conferences.

Well, we kinda started it with our sweet arse TV package and all our dolla bills. The Big Ten saw it and said "hmmm, I gotta get me some of that." But to do so they needed to add some teams. So they went and hit on the Big 12's bitches that weren't making the moneys cause that whore Texas was keeping it all.

The Pac-10 said "hmmm if that big 10 pimp can do it, we can to" So they went after Colorado and others.

Now Texas and the rest of Big 12 is having to pull up their skirts and find a new whore house.

I dont see Colorado leaving as a big deal at all. They will replace them easy and keep on moving. Not a fire sale at all.

Nebraska leaving is a huge deal though. One they can't recover from.

me too

and Colorado always seemed like a Pac10 school anyway

this is all about the Big Ten Network becoming profitable and appealing. once it gained broad appeal and the Big ten Conference wanted to expand their network, Nebraska saw an opportunity to put the Big 12 South in their rear view mirror

Mizzou fricked themselves by leaking out the talks before they got an invite and that pissed off Delaney

Texas has it's head up it's own arse. They then wanted to find out how many other school's heads could fit up Texas' arse. So next thing you know Texas tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma St all had their heads stuck up Texas' arse.

Baylor not wanting to be left out begged and pleaded to Texas to let them stick their head up Texas' arse too. Needless to it wouldn't fit because Baylor has a big awkward head, but they did manage to grab hold of an arse-cheek.

Texas then looked at the pac-10 and saw how small all their heads were, and realized some of them were going to have to pull their heads out of USC's arse because USC was about to be grounded and his mom wasn't going to allow company to come over for a while.

Texas quickly ran to the pac-10, ran too fast in fact causing Baylor to lose grip of that arse cheek. Have no fear pac-10, I have a little bit of room in my arse and surely I can fit the rest of you in there so don't even worry about USC!

This is how I imagine it played out atleast.
