The main question is.. would you be able to get the majority of AD's on campus to vote for this format.

That is a good question... I think as long as they can generate money from it and keep the travel up which shouldn't be a problem then they would. The only argument I could see is where the big games are played and the revenue from it all.

Money would definately be the main issue. Can the teams still get the best payouts in the country. Another thing not considered here are the other sports. How would 20 teams compare in the SEC baseball or basketball tournament. You would have to consider changing all sports, which is something that might have to get done anyways

What the SEC should do, is go ahead with the idea that it is the best confernce in the land, maybe add four more teams to this format, and your SECCG is your NC. To hell with the rest.

Not saying this is going to happen, but IDEALLY I see the best case scenario for the new 16 team SEC looking like this:
West:
Alabama
Arkansas
Aubrun
LSU
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
Texas
Oklahoma
East:
Florida
Georiga
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vandy
Florida State
Georgia Tech
Red River shootout still in tact, Florida/FSU rivalry not turns to a conference game, UGA/GT get a conference game every year, plus those schools have pretty sizable markets and fanbases.
West:
