Stop acting as if they can make that decision unilaterally.

I have no idea, I don't work in the SEC offices and of course they couldn't technically prevent it, but UF is probably the single most valuable SEC member between the size of the school, its location in the biggest state in the conference, its excellence in most sports and also its solid academic background. I'm sure they are influential and their concerns would be heard.

Hug TV markets, more money in the SEC.....yea, they bring nothing! Idiot!

Yes, Clemson will bring that ginormous tv market in South Carolina.... wait, isnt there another school in that state that is already in the SEC? What was their name again? You know, the SEC school in South Carolina?

And Georgia Tech... Repeat the above paragraph with a few words replaced. If you cant figure out which ones, take 2 cyanide pills and call me in the morning.

Explain how they woudn't help then? Please elaborate. Both of those schools are better than MIssouri who's not even in the South. They are both better than Louisville and N.C. State.

Explain who would fit. If Pac-12 and Big 10 add more teams, the SEC has to do the same. The can't just sit at watch. So what f'ing teams would fit in the SOUTHeastern Conference?

I think you give them too much credit. You're acting like they're the Texas of the Big 12, and that's not even working out for them.

Mizzou is respectable

No way they're even a consideration.

I don't see why not. Their conference is on the brink of crumbling and they are a major research AAU University in a bordering state to the SEC with a respectable athletic program.

Sure this article say's their not coming but there is discussion...

Eugene-Ore, Sea-Wash, Madison-Wisc, Syracuse-NY, Happy Valley-Pa,,etc..are pretty cool college towns too, but I don't want them nor their distances, as SEC foes.

Already hate the distance to Knoxville or Columbia-SC, or Lexington-Ky..

Anything beyond an 8-hr roadie by car..too much!

Mo and Clem, not great fits.

So now it has to be 16?

Dickass? haha that's funny.

And I'm sorry that you can't understand television markets. I really don't know if you're as stupid as you act on this board. At first, I thought you were just a troll. But after this long, I really can't be sure.

No, they are not Texas, but they are are also not trying to pull the shite that Texas pulled last year. However, if their cages began to be rattled they could start flexing their muscles.

Where is their leverage though? What are they going to do, leave the best conference with the most bucks to prove a point? And where would they go? The ACC with FSU? Or the Big East, ?

UF is a great school and they have great athletic programs, but I don't see where they have any leverage if the other teams want this. It's not like they can go independent and start a UFNetwork. There best chance would be to convince Bama and GA to get on their side.

And do what exactly? Look, I'm not trying to be a dick but they don't have the type of power within the conference that you give them credit for. They need the SEC more than the SEC needs them. That's why our conference is the best. No team is bigger than the SEC.

I don't want Mizzou or anyone for that matter, but if it goes 16 then I would prefer Mizzou. I agree on the distance but I'd prefer Columbia to Norman or Stillwater or wherever else.

I only mentioned Columbia was a cool college town because someone implied it sucked, but being a cool college town is not a reason to join.

Honestly, I don't know enough about the dollar figures or the relationship between UF and FSU to argue either way convincingly. I'm just spouting out bullshite theories like is the crux of this whole thread. That said, why couldn't they leave or at least threaten to go independent? I guess it would be a matter of who blinks.

Why would you want FSU? Seems like just that much more competition without adding an additional geographic footprint.

Going independent is full of pitfalls and financial difficulties that make it nearly impossible to be successful. ND, and maybe only ND, is able to pull it off. Because they have an entire network. Texas is the other possibility. UF is an amazing athletic institution but they aren't even close to having the power to be an independent and succeed financially.

aTm and FSU and that's it. Mizzou and Clemson bring nothing. Both teams consistently let down expectations. Clemson makes more sense due to location and south carolina, but Mizzou was virtually part of the Union, how is that southeastern?
