ball grave, remember to make your speech BEFORE you hit the bar...
...actually, hit the bar early. you are much more articulate in a magically crude way with some booze in your blood stream.

im seriously considering calling that #... im a potential track recruit and was really wanting to go to a&m to study meteorology until all this crap went down... why go to a school where all their decisions rely on what another school does?

Ball Gravy...you have been a great addition to the board wish it would have went through....I have a feeling Kyle Field would have been sold out for sure for the LSU games.

quote:If they considered this at all, they are morons. A&M needs to think how they can become a great team again. Sure, they will take lumps upon joining the SEC, but the goal is not winning next year, it's how competitive you can be over 10, 20, even 50 years. You have to look longterm, not your current quality.
With the dismantling the aggies took by Arkansas last year, it is clear they are not up to the level of the SEC just yet. The only games that might have been worth watching were vs Vandy and UK.

exactly, but it seems our administration is made of a bunch of short sighted pvssies.

Kyle Field already averaged 96-98% capacity in most years during the "lost decade" where we have sucked. Here and there we will have some low 70s attendance in bad years against the scrubs.
Had we gone to the SEC, they would have had to expand the South end zone several thousand seats to accomodate the influx of new season ticket holders and visiting fans.
Outside of Texas, OU and Nebraska, the rest of the schools in the Big 12 just don't travel well. Tech and Okie Lite travel okay.

No it won't A&M is stuck in the big12 with big brother Texas for at least 5 more years.
I think until that TV contract money is delivered as promised and not a penny less, that contract A&M signed is worth the paper they wipe their arse with. I still say Texas A&M ought to tell UT to

I think much like Arkansas, coaching changes have served these two schools well and would not be surprised if both teams are a tough punch out in 2010. Arkansas sucked at first but improved as the season went on. They sure gave Florida and LSU all they wanted. I watched that Texas A&M vs Texas game last year and the Aggies were in that game deep into the 4th quarter. I think Texas A&M got better as the year went along, I like their QB and I think they are not far off from being good again. Getting the right coach is so critical to winning.

Never discredit the passion behind a rivalry game. A&M played their hearts out while I believe UT was looking ahead to the Big 12 championship.

I agree, you make a good point. But from the way A&M looked at the start of the season to that last game of the season, I think Texas A&M is improving greatly. I like their QB, their recruiting has improved and I like their coaching staff. It takes a few years to get going when you had a coach that took a program down like Dennis F. did. Hell, Saban had to work his arse off to get LSU back into the game from that Dinardo era. I think Texas A&M has a good team and I would not be shocked if they beat UT this coming season.
