If I ever got ahold of some Pappy's, no one will be drinking it but me.

I don't know why Mizzou was not accepted by the Big 10. It would have been a great fit IMHO.

They probably thought we were too southern.

The real reason for this expansion is that conference officials are selling you, the fan, under the bus for more $$$. All this "academics" bullshite is a smokescreen. Do you, the fan, really give a crap whether the school you're playing is an AAU or whatever.

You guys don't want to watch Missouri get stomped year in and year out in the SEC. You don't want another frickin doormat, which is exactly what they will be. Do you, the fan, watch the doormat lie there and get destroyed and just so happy that they bring new "markets".

Being in the "SEC" isn't going to help recruiting one bit-- it will hurt it. As an athlete, I wanted to go where I could win... not where I would get stomped into obscurity. You guys are blind, blinded by the garbage being fed to you by ESPiN and the SEC bigshots.

Anyway, the SEC should've invited West Virginia. Now I don't even want to see WVU in the SEC, I'd rather see them go independent again (and yes we did fine as an independent) than come crawling back to the one who said "no".

Wow, really? I think your motives for your post are pretty clear, and explains why you are way off base. Mizzou would clearly be the better choice over WVU. The decision is based on far more than football.

What? I was just pointing out that every team in existence beats teams they shouldn't once or twice a season. The only ones that don't are the ones who shouldn't lose to anyone (NC contenders).

Because football fans should be concerned with "markets" and "academics". Put down the koolaid, buddy, and talk about what's important to YOU as a fan.

Absolutely, if it means keeping my team and conference competitive. That's why the SEC is the best. Keeping it that way very important to ME as a fan.

It's mostly about the TV market. But honestly, I think the SEC could use another whipping boy. I mean, honestly, look at the SEC West alone now with aTm.

The Academic side is not to be underestimated. Two more AAU schools are being invited to make the SEC more enticing to Texas and North Carolina. Those 2 schools are the ultimate prize in this.

I certainly don't want Texas, but the question is whether greed will rule the day.

No. Texas is not on anyone's mind when it comes to the SEC and they never will be.

Texas has a large scarlet letter on it's chest. Or 3 letters. LHN.

Could you tell me when's the last time Mizzou got stomped by a SEC team. Give me all the scores from Mizzou vs SEC teams. Doubt if Mizzou would get stomped year in and year out in the SEC.

Oh and also post WVU's record and scores vs the SEC. Oh by the way could you tell me who won the last meeting between Mizzou and WVU since WVU is so much more superior in football over lil rinky dink Mizzou.

For years the SEC was looked upon as a less appealing conference, now that we have established our true dominance, no spread offense, not trick plays, just big boy football, now every clown is trying to beat down the SEC door.
Ummmm, I hate to break it to you but a big part of SEC dominance is due to winning 5 straight BCS titles, and 3 of those titles were won by teams running some version of the spread offense.

some of you guys need to get a grip. Of the teams that are REALISTIC to join, who is better than Mizzou right now? Who would excite you??? Remember-realistic shot at coming to the SEC.

Clemson is NOT coming. G-Tech is not either. Sooner/Poke combo-nope.

Mizzou offers a decent (not great) fan base, that has potential, academics, TV MARKET, and fricks up the big12 even more (despite what longhorn fans believe)
