UM is not even close to a SEC type school.
Even in their heyday, the fan support was spotty at best and that was while playing at the Orange Bowl.
Now they play at Dolphin Stadium which is far north of Miami and not even close to the campus or the areas where you think a great road trip would happen.
UM sucks and needs to stay in the ACC.

Seems to me, big cities are usually more pro team oriented. Don't know why. Same with DC, New York, Philly, and Chicago.
That's because cities are magnets for graduates of all universities and the interest is too dispersed. Pro teams unify the city.

Miami would not have the biggest market in this deal Texas A&M would. Miami also has crappy facilities and they would add a 2nd private school in the SEC. There enrollment would be the lowest in the conference and they have a hard time selling out the piece of crap stadium they play in. So no Miami should be at the bottom of that list not the top.
Not to mention a president (Shalala) that has publicly stated a desire to de-emphasize athletics at the school. The SEC needs leaders and champions. Miami is neither of those anymore.

miami has a pathetic fanbase, but if they were in the sec, their stadium would sell-out with lsu/bama/uf/sec fans during conference games. with that said, frick miami. they bring nothing to the table.

They have more instant SEC-type swagger than A&M and Mizzou combined. TV sets all over America would watch Da U play before these others.
Hello, my friend, and welcome to the year 2011. Quite a few things have changed since you slipped in to your coma.

Doesn't really look like they're going to have a team anymore, so rule them out.

Miami is a gawd-awful option. Many better options out there. Hell, they don't even have their own stadium.

To be fair. Someone is going to be able to get some pretty good deals on football equipment like tackling dummies and shoulder pads.
That has to count for something.
