not a bad idea as another poster said. Go after some "semi" small fish in SEC territory and see if you can make a dent, pretty well used Business Model actually

I know it probably wouldn't happen but I'd love to see Houston get in.

Why not have Air Force for the Colorado market.

No such thing. No one in Colorado gives a crap about Air Force.

No one on this list is all that great.

Scratch the first three right off the bat. SMU and Houston add nothing not already covered by Texas (actually you can add TCU to this list also), and Tulsa adds nothing not already covered by OU.

Louisville is probably the best on the list in terms of athletics (at least in b-ball) but this would be similar to TCU in the Big East or the comments made about Mizzou to the SEC, simply that it's geographically too distant.

If BYU is already in (and I'm assuming Mizzou is leaving though to where is still TBD), I would add Colorado State to give them a nearby partner (though Air Force would be a much better pick IMHO), with Wyoming a second choice (for the same reason, nearby partner). I might consider either of the NM schools for the same reason, but only if Colo State or Wyoming (or Air Force) says no, and even then I would look desperate.

LA Tech would be good but only if you can add another school nearby, maybe either Memphis, Tulane, or Southern Miss.

SMU
Houston - They don't need them. UT had to swallow some pride for TCU to get in.

Tulsa - don't need them; they offer nothing

Colorado St. - depends on if they can pull in Denver market but since CU is the big dog there, useless?

Louisville - possibility
New Mexico - don't need them; they offer nothing

New Mexico St. - don't need them; they offer nothing

LA Tech - I'd like it but if you can't fill up 3/4 of your 30K stadium, you don't offer much

Wyoming - don't need them; they offer nothing

SMU - TCU was tough enough. No way Texas or TCU will go for it. Plus they don't play baseball (I know CU didn't either) and football maybe viewed as not stable yet. That death penalty really f'd them up

I think a lot of credit should go to the new commish. Since he's gotten in there, shite has happened. Beebe must have sucked.

If I'm the Big 12, I'm trying to be the first to go to 16 by adding USF, East Carolina, WVU, Louisville, BYU, and New Mexico. If I lose Mizzou, I add Air Force.

Think big.

Boise St. Louisville BYU TCU. Boise St is more successful than TCU. Louisville has a bigger athletic budget than most of the teams in the Big12, heck probably half the SEC teams.
