Have you been to Disneyland/world? If they can get people to pay that kind of money for tickets, they're brilliant.
haha. True

If true, sounds like anti-competitive practices at the least... especially the part about being retaliatory after the Big East reportedly turned down ESPN's offer and was entertaining offers from competitors.
My opinion, but I see a massive lawsuit emerging if this is true... bigger and with wider reach than you might believe.

uhhh.... you do realize slowflowpro is a lawyer too. And we all know this as fact. I will trust his opinion over somebody on your board that says he is a lawyer

liable for tortious interference
how? the contract says they can leave if they want so long as they give 27 months notice and pay the buyout. How is that breaking the contract? You have to break a contract for there to be any real interference.
quote:
RICO (racketeering act)
How the frick is ESPN rackerteering? where are the kickbacks? How, any any way shape or form, did espn or the ACC break any law now or in the past to show they are an ongoing criminal enterprise? Your "lawyer" is a stupid frick if he really said this.
quote:
fraud
What fraud? What did espn steal? what money was taken? from a future contract? maybe but you can't prove it as you havent signed a new contract. I could maybe maybe see this though.

conspiracy
Conspiracy to commit what? Conspiracy isnt a crime. You have to conspire with one or more parties to commit a crime. no crime was committed, so where is the conspiracy?

libel/slander/defamation
Show me one mother fricking quote where the ACC/ESPN have said anything negative about the Big East. Comments from the exiting schools on why they are leaving is not slander.
You need to use some Damn common sense! Doesn't take a lawyer to know most of those charges are bullshite. The lawsuit would turn out the same way the last one did for ya'll, thrown out of court because its baseless.
Oh and if a lawyer really posted that then he should be disbarred because he sucks as a lawyer.

Lesson learned: Corporate interests have a corroding and toxic influence on anything pure that they may touch.
the least shocking thing in this whole expansion era

Would have been interesting to be able to read the story without that stupid arse box with the author's bio covering up the text.

If true, this isn't at all surprising and I'm not sure what would be illegal about it.
Could be tortious interference with a contract; just depends on what ESPN did, or didn't do.

You wonder if UConn and Rutgers to the big ten is any possibility. I can see the big ten not wanting the ACC to become too dominant on the east coast.

i don't do labor stuff. i'd listen to baloo's thoughts on that. i think legislation aimed at monopolies is a little out of place. it just doesn't make sense at all
