Why is Clemson not in the discussion? Much better fit IMO.
Put it this way, if Pac 12 gets OU,OSU,Texas and TT, you better believe the ACC is on notice because SEC is knocking on the door and will probably just kick it in

We already have a team in South Carolina so we don't necessarily need another. Missouri opens up more markets.

You think people in Missouri/St Louis give a damn about Mizzou football?

Twe in Bama and two in MS. Clemson is a perfect cultural fit to the SEC. More so than any other school.

Do you live in Missouri? I think quite a few people will be shocked at the response from Mizzou fans if this thing happens. We're only in our second decade of real success since the dead years. The fanbase is growing at a rapid rate and it'll only continue to grow.

Two in Tennessee as well. Only difference is that all of those schools were charter members of the SEC. The SEC is now looking to add new markets. Clemson doesn't do that.

But, they are the most SEC type school that isn't in the SEC. Great baseball program and decent at basketball. Add A&M amd Clemson and be done.

It's about adding markets...TV revenue. Nothing more.
Adding TCU makes more sense than Missou for that imo.
And Clemson does not offer any market.
Besides, SEC schools do not want in-state rivals, not currently in the SEC, to join now. Not gonna happen although I'd like it.

Is Columbia a nice town?
What's your gameday atmosphere like?
Got lots of hot chicks?
Do y'all do piss balloons?
These are just some of the questions that we need to get answered before formally letting y'all in.

Was the SEC Missouri's first choice, or did they really want in the B1G?

this means nothing, at all.
why would auburn volunteer to leave for the east (with the condition of keeping the bama game yearly) a couple of weeks ago if the SEC wasnt in clear talks to add 2 teams from the west?

So what? This adding market crap is exactly crap. Clemson is the natural add on along with A&M in the West.

They had better put them in the East.

id LOVE to hear this logic. WVU was turned down because they "didnt bring enough tv sets"

It's not crap, you're trying to EXPAND in different REGIONS, not hard to figure out what conferences are doing. In turn you get bigger contracts, etc.

quote:Bingo! But then for the bean-counters, who cares about tradition, fanbase passion, or anything that really made the SEC product the #1 college football conference... it's really about the couch potatoes and their tv sets.
