Personally I don't want to many Texicans running around the conference, one school is plenty. If we double up in a state I would prefer to do it in Florida.

Who would've thought back in the day when Arkansas bolted for the SEC, that little old losing history TCU would have twice as many BCS bowls and a Rose Bowl trophy.
do we really need to analyze the path to a BCS bowl for both TCU and Arkansas?

rice would not come if invited. i can promise u that. the last thing those folks are worried about is football

the sec has no interest in balancing out vandy. certainly not in a city we just took over with atm

smu would accomplish the same goal in a new city no less

And everyone stop with the TCU garbage...how old are you? The horny frogs have only been relevant for a couple of years, cannot sell out their stadium and are a coaching change away from being irrelevant once again.

Patterson turned down his BCS school Alma Mater before TCU ever made a BCS bowl, much less got invited to the Big East. He's not going anywhere unless shite goes south with him at the helm for about a decade and we fire him, which is not very likely. I wouldn't hold my breath on that coaching change.

Oh, and 50K is 7-8 our enrollment--having a 90k seat stadium would be idiotic with our conference mates a timezone away and not having any history with them. This is a problem that many schools have--demand for LSU tickets in games against non-conference opponents that aren't ranked and with whom LSU has no history isn't exactly staggering. Hell, I know more people selling their Kentucky tickets or offering them for free than people that are going to the game. Tiger Stadium may be full at some point Saturday, but not with people that paid full price for tickets (but I doubt it gets full at all). TCU sells out it's stadium for exciting matchups, but they haven't had many exciting home conference games since the SWC broke up, and no decent OOC competition will play in Amon Carter (see TTech, OU, Arkansas, and Texas buying their way out of games against TCU in the past few years).

Our stadium can expand to 50k next offseason if we get an invite to a closer conference of nationally-competitive teams where people will get excited about games. That doesn't mean we wouldn't go bigger than that if demand warranted it, which it would shortly in the SEC. We also wouldn't have trouble raising the money for it.

We sure can, Chicken. How about TCU only being eligible in any way since 2000, and only having a guaranteed way in if they achieved a certain rank for the past 5 seasons. How about TCU having inherent recruiting disadvantages because of not being in a major conference? Not being a large state school? Not being in the SEC?

Should I go on?

How about the fact that TCU has to outperform 65 other schools to have a shot at one BCS bowl spot, while Arkansas only has to be in the top 2 or 3 of 12 schools to have a BCS shot?

The road is certainly more clear for TCU now that it's not still impossible to go

TCU sucked so bad that the Big 12 didn't even look at them.

Sorry TCU was fricking turrible. You've had some success the last few years in the WAC or whatever joke of a conference took you in.

Reality is a bitch I know

TCU would never.....EVER...finish higher than 4th in the SEC West. That team last year included. Getting up for 1-2 tough opponents per year is not comparable to the weekly grind of the SEC. Just stop

Struck a nerve, did I?

Someone mentioned making excuses earlier... you really should quit making excuses and win football games. All you have to do is finish second in your division (like this year) and you'll probably get a BCs bowl. Just finish ahead of 4 teams. Even little old TCU would've had a shot at doing that in the SEC west last year, disadvantages and all.

Ok, so with their best team ever in their storied history, they might have finished 3rd in the West.

I didnt have to clamor to have B1G added to mine. I got direct tv and it was just there. I dont have any special packages or anything.

And B1G network has had no problems in large states like Penn even though the market is fragmented and there are multiple other BCS schools in other conferences.

I don't think we will need to, but if Slive believes that to get all the markets in texas we need another team he needs to add TCU.

Something tells me you're not really laughing, given the rapid fire responses.

TCU might have finished second in the west, or they might have finished last. I do know that Vegas liked our chances against Auburn after the bowl results, so take that as you will. We'll never know how TCU wouldve done in the SEC west, though we can safely TCU won the Rose Bowl and finished number two in a system that didn't allow them a fair shot at a title, and number one was using a hired gun. And we did that without any of the advantages that Arkansas gets every year in february on the recruiting trails.

Enjoy continuing to look at not only LSU's, Auburn's, LSU's, and Alabama's taillights, but also at Oklahoma's, Texas', and little old TCU's. The Horned Frogs have finished ranked higher all of the past three years than Arkansas has in God knows how long. When was the last time y'all finished 7th or higher? I couldn't find it anywhere online.

Maybe I'm Asian and type really fast and shite

Look, Im glad yall beat Wisky in the Rose Bowl, that was cute and unexpected, but quit trying to compare anything TCU has done with anything Arkansas has done b/c when we were in the same conference you know as well as I that TCU wasn't even on the radar.

SMU/Houston both had some decent years, but TCU did not. Yall won 0 SWC titles from 1960 until the conference collapsed. You went to a total of 2 bowl games b/w 1960 and 1994 and lost both to horrible teams. You have no history that matters.

Back to the original topic, I think that the size of our radio network shows that we will deliver Texas to the SEC.

Just FYI, I'm not entirely sure, but your response to my stating that TCU finished higher in all of the past three seasons than Arkansas has since 1977 may have involved mentioning stuff that happened as long ago as the 1960s. I just thought I should let you know your argument sucks so you should probably take a mulligan and try again.

p.s. I found a final poll history of Arkansas--1977 was Lou Holtz's first year with the Razorbacks and the year after Broyles retired. That was the last time they finished ranked higher than TCU has finished in the past 3 years. In fact, Arkansas has only finished ranked at all THREE TIMES SINCE 1989!

Does the SEC need another Texas school or are the Aggies enough? If and when an SEC Network is created like that of the Big Ten, will having Texas A&M be enough to get cable operators to add the SEC Network to their line ups in Dallas? You know that Houston is covered.
Good question, but I tend to think that any Texas school other than the Horns would not add enough leverage to make a difference, given the pull of A&M, and more importantly, the SEC. You take what should be an attractive product in the SEC network (especially compared to the Longhorn network), and add in one of the states two flagship universities and it's hard to see how adding TCU, Tech, or anyone else would really move the meter when it comes to getting on cable systems.

If the SEC TV contract called for a lot of regional coverage, like the Big XII, then having a divided market would be a bigger deal, but, with the current SEC TV contracts, I just don't see that really coming into play.
