honestly on some level it's a little neat that you have some old school type traditions that you've refused to let die. even if they're outdated and weird you still do it and not even halfway. i mean it's like

'damn right we got fingah gunz; we've always had fingah gunz and we damn sure ain't stoppin' now. wanna see mah fingah gun? WHOOP! scare ya? did i scare ya with mah fingah gun? maybe you'd like to see a little 'good night farmer brown' cheer if the fingah gunz are too much for ya. just lemme know cuz i gotta lot more shite i can throw atcha iffin' you're game.'

The play music during the game? Like an NBA game?

That was a list of things that I'm glad A&M doesn't do.

I've read on here about LSU doing both, not sure about other SEC schools.

Whoever does the pipe music at Tiger Stadium needs to jump off a bridge.

Just watched some Kentucky clips, please tell me they don't do some sort of cat growl after a touchdown...

Maybe Mizzou is not so bad... they have an OK basketball tradition... for people that care about that sport. ...because maybe a school with yell leaders and finger guns moving into the SEC will not end well.

Your go to come back is now officially old. Try something new like sticking your favorite hand sign up your arse.

Gig’em is a greeting the equivalent of Hook ‘em, Sic ‘em,

WHOOP is an explanation the equivalent of Oorah (Marines) or HOOAH (Army).

It is mostly used as an explanation point on the end of a Yell or if someone says something you agree with.

First thing you have to remember is this all started when A&M was an all Male Military school. So a lot of its traditions began with a military background but have evolved over the years. In the Corps you are defined by your class level and through that you receive privileges. The Whoop is a Junior and Senior Privilege. This has carried over to the general student population as well. Yes you could Whoop as a freshman outside the Corps but then what’s the point.

The difference between the Junior and Senior Whoop’s are the hand signs when doing them.
Juniors make a gun sign pointing down. Seniors make a gun sign pointing up.

The only reason why I have heard is that the Seniors are showing off their rings while the Juniors are hiding the fact that they don’t have one.

Is it dumb? Yeah, but it is a tradition and since it is something that you “earn” people take is fairly seriously.

Yep, I was unsold when I found out they didn't have female cheerleaders.

Way too gay for the SEC.
