What did Auburn give up in 1992?

Auburn-Tennessee.

And then later in the 1990's, we gave up Auburn-Florida.

We gave up the UT rivalry and eventually the UF rivalry which we had played close to the number of times bama had played ut in 1992.

We had played UF more than anyone except UGA at the time. And UF was the first SEC school to agree to come to JH and play us there annually.

In addition I posted the number of games AU has played against East teams and West teams and it is not even close even after 20 years in the west.

We gave up maybe our biggest rival behind bama due to expansion (UF and UGA were not dissimilar in importance to AU in 1992 as rivals). That is more than any other team.

Again, Auburn fans care a lot about keeping their rivalry game, but shite on Bama for wanting to do the same. Typical.

Why not just put Mizzou in the east? There that fixes the problem and everybody still keeps there cross conference rival and loses a 1 crappy non-conference game.

I don't blame you for wanting to keep it, but don't be pissy with us for being proactive so we can keep ours.

I'd say less of getting out of the west and more of getting in the east. All of our traditional match ups are in the east.

wait, so it's ok for Auburn to want to bring in Mizz so they can jet to the east and secure their traditional match ups/rivalry but Alabama and UT are being difficult by saying no because they want to secure their traditional match ups/rivalry?

Bama can frick itself with their entitlement mentality and thinking they are more important than any other school.

I don't have a f-ing clue!

This whole expansion bullchit reminds me of New Coke.

Coke had the market, it was the product all the competitors were chasing to catch. It had the name, the product and the truly loyal customers. So the geniuses decided to f- it up beyond all recognition and destroy what took a century to build.

SEC expansion is like New Coke. Let’s not f#ck with the product, keep what we have, it’s the balls.

Traditionally, Alabama had 3 true rivalry games... Auburn, UT, and LSU.... Auburn actually had 4, Alabama, UGA, Florida and UT. The TigerBowl is a new rivalry. Auburn lost UT and Florida over time. Who has Alabama lost? Anyone? So IF Auburn moved, Alabama loses UT and Auburn gets back our traditional rivals.

WTF?

What entitlement mentality?

Bama and Tennessee ARE the fricking SEC. Damn, look at the two teams combined SEC titles. The "entitlement" has been fricking earned since the SEC was established.

Auburn has played Florida nearly as many times as Bama has played Tennessee.

We gave it up. Didn't WANT to give it up, but the SEC decided that for the good of the conference and scheduling, it had to go.

Too bad Bama folk can't handle doing the same thing.

I'm the guy telling you i don't blame you for being upset, and wanting to keep ut, but the fact is we were proactive in offering to move to the east so we can gurantee that we keep ours.

Exactly. Bama has not and nor have they ever been made to sacrifice or give up jack squat.

And wanting them to do it JUST ONCE seems to be a bridge too far for them to go.
