You missed the previous thread a week or so ago.

An LSU fan pinpointed the Center of all campuses will reside in Dumas, Arkansas and the closet large city to Dumas is Little Rock, Ark.

All SEC fans in Little Rock just got a LARGE boost to SEC West campus games.

That is the geographic center.

The center of all things SEC is still Tuscaloosa.

I threw this together quickly but it's pretty obvious LSU and Arkansas win large in this expansion. While hurting OSU, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and Baylor and Texas Tech.

It certainly doesn't hurt Arkansas but I don't think it's going to turn into the bonanza on the recruiting trail that is being implied in this thread.

First the state of Missouri,While Arkansas does well there and will continue to do well there,is it really going to improve so much that Arkansas will be able to go in and get whoever they want?In some cases yes but Missouri will get some and Oklahoma will still be a huge factor in Missouri if they want a kid.They have always gotten a great majority of the kids they offer in Missouri. That will continue.

As for Texas,the SEC schools will get more coverage and exposure in Texas but it's not as though they're going to take over Texas.Arkansas will continue to recruit Texas hard(some implications in this thread make it seem as though they don't already recruit Texas very hard) and may win some battles along the way but it's not as though they're going to start getting whoever they want in Texas.They'll still be getting the same caliber of kids they get now just maybe a few more of them.TAM will probably press a little more in Texas and at least have some ammunition in the head to head battles with Texas and Oklahoma and as an instate school have obvious advantages over Arkansas that will allow them to win more battles than they lose.

It seems as though the Arkansas fans are thinking that all of a sudden Texas and Oklahoma are going to quit recruiting Texas.I don't get the logic in thinking that TAM and Missouri moving to the SEC is going to change the fact that Texas and Oklahoma will get most of the kids they want.Okie St. Will also be a factor in Texas.Quietly Gundy is building quite a program in Stillwater.As much as we as SEC fans hate to admit it not all kids want or dream of playing in the SEC.

To summarize,not a whole lot is going to change in the state of Texas recruiting wise.

I think people in Little Rock win most. Fayetteville gets a decently close away game for students to travel to. The A&M game is already one. Mizzou will be number 2.

Mizzou fans coming to Fayetteville will have it great, with the whole trip other than the last 30 miles being in their home state.

1. Mizzou for a recruiting stand point does nothing for me. Keep the focus on the 350 D-1 kids in Texas and the 80 D-1 Kids in Louisiana and Arkansas will be very solid. Each team can only sign 25 a year.

2. Kids growing up Big12 will now be cut in to by 25% of the State of Texas becoming SEC kids. Not all Big12 state now.

3. Arkansas can now tell the same kids in Texas you are looking at TAMU you now can look at Arkansas because we play in the same conference.

4. The Presence of OSU, Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa State, Baylor and Texas Tech will be diminished while Texas and OU will always run the state.

5. It doesn't matter if Texas and OU sign every top kid out of Texas they can only take 25 that's minus 50 of 350 kids in Texas left between Arkansas, TAMU, OSU and LSU for proximity. Not to mention 3 schools get to sale the SEC partyline.

6. Adding another school 315 miles North of Arkansas helps us in proximity becuase they won't be a large threat.

7. Arkansas used to have all SWC lineman from Houston Texas, this will happen again because the Arkansas name will be splashed all over Texas again.

8. Remember their are 300 d-1 kids in Texas after Texas and OU cleaned house not to mention 80 D-1 kids from Louisiana. Who's next in order.. Simple.. LSU, Ark and TAMU and OSU.

All SEC West campuses are now under 535 Miles from Fayetteville excluding Auburn.

Little Rock wins the biggest prize, no doubt.

I never thought of how Missouri will drive the entire trip within their state and only 40 miles from border to the stadium. 38.4 but who's counting, ha.

This. I guess I just don't see the big new advantage, unless it's for aTm. Percentages are rough, but for the last three years recruiting, this is what each school has signed from the state of Texass.

aTm=78%
MO=38%
AR=18%
LSU=13%

So, the two schools who already sign more kids from Texas can now say come play in the conference of champions. Texas and Oklahoma will still get their pick. Where is the big advantage?

Arkansas already has a shitload of southern Missouri kids on campus. Missouri is the #2 state for out of state kids at Arkansas behind Texas.

That will become a rivalry of sorts.

Kinda weird to feel like we are suddenly in the middle of the division, instead of being on the fringe.

Missouri will likely get fewer Texas kids.

Before, they played FOUR schools in the state of Texas at least every other year.

Now they will play one.

They'll probably break even by getting Memphis and kids from the southeast, though.

Those numbers are about to change.

Missouri - Decrease.
TAMU - Same
Arkansas - Increase
LSU - Increase

While hurting the entire Big12 minus OU and Texas.

Arkansas loses the right to bitch about cold weather in baseball season, though.

Mizzou will now lock that shite down.

Do the Math Gents.

We are going with Proximity and Prestige of Progams.

LSU, Arkansas, Texas, TAMU, OSU, OU and Texas Tech

3 Schools play in the SEC (Better Conference Selling Point)
4 Schools play in the Big12

Texas - 350 recruits
LA - 80 recruits
Ok - 50 recruits
Ark - 40 recruits

Each Team can sign 25 of 7 schools that is only 175 players out of 520 kids.

You just divided the state of Texas up into 25% of SEC country that is massive!
