That is messed up.

There are plenty of legit above-board shots to take at aggie, no need to cross this line. These were people's kids that died.

No kidding.

I think it gives a lot of insight into how much this move to the SEC is bothering the Texas fan base.

A&M in a better conference in which Texas can not keep its thumb on them does not sit well.

OU in the soft underbelly of the PAC 12 is a scary thought...

No line was crossed, it was a perfect response to their new stance that somehow Texas is obsessed with A&M, when historically that is obviously not the case. The fact that they put so much stock in one game that they tried to build a bonfire so high that it collapsed and killed their students is just the best example of their obsession.

going back to T. Boone's interview during the game a couple of weeks ago - no bluff. I think they are calling their hand. Either Texas gets right on revenue sharing and being part of a unified conference, or OU is gone.

We actually did get right on revenue sharing. The Fox contract for the Big 12's tier-2 and tier-3 revenues is evenly split and when our tier-1 rights come up for renewal in 2014, we are going to split those evenly as well.

Remember, Nebraska, OU and A&M all profitted from the unequal revenue sharing as much as Texas did. In fact, OU made the most TV money last year. So, the schools that benefitted the most from the previous system are the ones that either left or are wanting to leave.

What's A&M going to do when they find out that 6 SEC schools have tier-3 TV deals over more than $3 mill each? A&M is currently at $0. Is A&M going to demand that LSU split the money evenly? Is LSU going to do that or are you going to tell them to GTFO?

Remember, the LHN is ONLY for tier-3 events. It takes nothing away from tier-1 or tier-2 broadcasting, which means that the butt hurt by A&M is much to do about nothing.

The annual game with A&M doesn't get great ratings outside of Texas and will probably be done. Those aggies get so worked up about that game they kill themselves (literally).

Let's get one thing straight, cockmuncher--making light of student deaths is NEVER a "perfect response." It is crass and disrespect of the highest sort--and that goes beyond where any decent person should be willing to go in even the most heated of rivalries. You are a pathetic waste of space and humanity if you stand behind what you typed earlier. Shame on you.

In response to your contention that texas isn't obsessed with A&M, I offer this:

--your fight song also calls out Texas A&M (not that I'd expect you to know that because y'all don't know the words to your own fight song)

--"texas fight" was written for the sole purpose of competing with Texas A&M's song "Farmer's Fight." It's simply a sped up version of "Taps," (no, I didn't make that up--it's on the texas band's history website. look it up)

--Y'all's "hook 'em" hand signal is the result of your students blatantly copying the popularity of Texas A&M's "gig 'em" hand sign (first such signal in the SWC--quickly copied by y'all, tech, baylor, etc.)

--We had Bonfire--y'all have "hex rally" (a candlelight rally held only the night before the Texas A&M game)

Let's not pretend the obsession doesn't go both ways to a much greater extent than horns will ever admit.

Again, in this instance it certainly was a perfect response.

Well, I don't really respect Texas A&M...so...

Indignant, yes.

It undoubtedly was not. We're discussing sports, not making light of deaths.

I don't give a shite if you respect TAMU--respect for kids who passed on before their time is a different matter entirely. I'd never stoop to denigrating an innocent person's death, regardless of where they happened to attend school.

So you don't dispute that it's always been a two-way street. That was the point, retard.

Prove to me that it was not a good example. You can't, because it was. Real life is a part of sports when your students start killing themselves in preparation of a game. That's not making light of their deaths, it is pointing out the obvious that aggies want to ignore. Your obsession with Texas cost those kids their lives. Congrats.

Apparently you do.

Sports =/= real life. Terrible "example."

Reading comprehension fail. The kids died getting ready for a football game. That is stupidity.

I hope they are not bluffing.

I had my hopes up that the Baylor lawsuit threat against Tex A&M would dry up and fly away if Okies left.

I think they are carrying the water for the Horns myself, but we will see. I think the big 12 stays minus A/M. They bring in TCU,BYU,and somebody else. Go back to 12 teams and have a playoff game.I think what has happened is the horns played the we do not need the aggies game and now the sooners are trying to force A/M back in the conf. but the media is not aboard and it looks to have failed for now.

Tbird, I've asked several sippers this question and gotten an "I dunno" shoulder shrug. Can you shed light on why UTa sings "I've Been Working on the Railroad" when they do the hook'em hand signal?

TIA

Because they're morons. I know there a lot of posters who affiliate themselves with a wide variety of schools. Many of them are hated LSU rivals but I'll be damn if I can think of some off the top of my head more arrogant and full of themselves as most of the TU fans. Good God..... go away! Troll on over to longhorncowpatties.com where you all rule the universe and all things are burnt orange in color.

LSUisjustOK gives you a taste of why A&M has disdain for non-alumni fans. posters like him go off on our boards but are quickly banned. Happens all the time and we just deal with it and move on.Their T-shirt fans are the worst in the country. Class is not in their vocab.

it would be appreciated if everyone just votes him down.
