Most of the A&M fans posting on here currently are to young to actually remember the SWC.

The lower telvised games will now be able to be seen there, where as before you got the regional Big 12 games in that part of the country.

Since the SEC signed the last ESPN contract two years ago, Dallas has gotten all of the same SEC games as any city located in the SEC with the exception of games that the school's offered on their own pay per view networks. Some of them were and have been available for years.

By the lower tier games I am assuming you mean the games that used to be done by Jefferson Pilot. Those are the 11 am games that are now on the SEC Network channels. All of those games are on Channel 21 here in Dallas.

They will pick up the Sunday paper (log online) and read all about the SEC and the Razorbacks more than once a year.

The Biggest break through is SEC highlights on local news and reporting in Texas.

These things are very true for all of us LSU fans too.

the only thing it changes in the sec west is that it adds another scrap dog scrabbling around at the bottom of the heap for the leftovers most years...some years, they, like ole' miss will sneak up on someone and be a spoiler.

what does concern me is if they keep their yearly date with texas and texas continue to dominate the series...that will drag the sec rep down a little

This is pure ignorance at its best. You are probably young so I leave this to just straight ignorance, but A&M is not some historic bottom feeder. We had a bad (very bad) last decade. Before that, we had a good run of nearly three decades (70's off and on). Coming from a Bama fan, you should know good teams have bad periods. We are not elite by any means, but we are a top 20 winning program. LSU was pretty terrible for most of the 90's, somehow they managed to turn it back around.

A&M has everything a successful program needs. Big time support, big time money, Big time facilities, and big time recruiting base. We just need big time coaching.
We shall see if Sherman is that guy (I think he is) but our talent is rising exponentially every year. Our offense is stockpiled with NFL talent right now and the defense isn't too far behind. We will compete in the SEC and we will prove it on the field.

Forgot to mention, Texas has not dominated the series since we were still an all male military institution.
We are 19-18 against them since 1975.
After we stomp their arse this year, we will have won 4 of the last 6.

Check your facts.

And for my third post, I think us going to the SEC helps A&M, LSU, Arkansas ALOT, probably somewhat helps everyone else in the west (maybe not MS schools). It definitely is going to hurt OSU, OU, TT, BU, and more than likely Texas.
I say Texas because eventually there will be a shift back to A&M like it was for 80s and 90s where A&M ran the state.

It helps TAM recruiting considerably. They will now have something to offer Texas recruits that UT can't. That is a chance to play in the SEC against top talented teams week in and week out. I think TAM actually get more talented. But that will be offset by the tougher schedule. They will not be a pushover by any stretch in the SEC especially when teams go to Kyle Field. It's the only stadium and crowd in the Big 12 with and SEC atmosphere.

Nobody here really gives a s###, but I think A&M has the money to be a lucrative academic research partner to some or all of the SEC schools. I think schools with an ag/engineering focus like Auburn and Miss State and LSU to a lesser extent could benefit research wise by collaborating with A&M. You can joke about some of A&M's odd traditions but they have an a##load of money and they generate a lot of research money.

You're not alone. I agree with you on this.

I am not really talking about Dallas, I am talking about most, if not all of Texas. aTm has fans/alums all over that state. This will help down in South Texas, West Texas, everywhere.

We don't get the early (11:30) games here in Austin now, but most probably will going forward.
