2011 beginning of super conferences but not the end

Here is how I see the Realignment of 2011 ending up.
ACC:
The ACC has now added Syracuse and Pitt, as well as, increase their exit fees in order to try and prevent any teams from leaving. Last year there was a strong feeling that Pitt would never be added to the B1G as it is the same geographical area as Penn State. As opposed to Rutgers, Kansas, and even Mizzou who feel they still might have a shot at the B1G. For 2011 realignment I believe the ACC is done at 14.
B1G:
The big made a grab last year in Nebraska but stopped. This year there has been no noise coming for the Midwest. I believe the B1G is still waiting on Notre Dame and doesn’t want to make a move until the Catholics join. So during 2011 The B1G stays at 12.
PAC:
The Pac has or will offer OU, OSU, Tech and the Longhorns. OU and OSU will accept. Tech will want to accept but the longhorns will not. The Pac will not accept Tech not because it doesn’t want them but because it doesn’t want an odd number of teams. Remember back to last year how quickly Utah was added in order to get to 12. The PAC will not want any other team other than the longhorns for #16. Therefore the Pac will be done with #14 for the 2011 realignment.
SEC:
The SEC will add A&M this year but they are not thrilled by any of the #14 options that are currently out there. The SEC is not going to act as the PAC did and just add a team for the sake of being even. The SEC will wait for Virginia Tech to realize that they are back in the same “Big East” conference they left in 2004. The SEC will add only A&M and stay at 13.
Big East/Big 12
The Big Merger will take place.
(East)
West Virginia
Louisville
Rutgers
South Florida
Connecticut
Cincinnati
(West)
Baylor
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Missouri
Texas Tech
(Non Football)
Longhorns
Notre Dame
This conference will be formed for one reason, in order to keep the AQ status through 2014. This is the beginning of super conferences but not the end. Just the end of the 2011 Drama.
5 AQ Confernces with Notre Dame, Longhorns, BYU, Army, and Navy as Indy

at the rate Arky is going (in their own minds).....they'll go Independent and we won't have to add a 14th.

I pretty much agree with this.

I could see this happening. The SEC will need to get to 14 at some point.
Short list will be:
Virginia Tech
Florida State
Miami
TCU
West Virginia
Texas Tech
Missouri

I think ACC is first to 16. They add UConn & maybe Rugers or ND (all rumors)
SEC will be last to 14 or 16. Awaiting good options.
Agree with most of the rest.

TCU and the basketball only schools below make it a 22 team basketball league. Travel and scheduling would be a nightmare. You'd almost have to schedule it as 2 separate conferences who share a conference tournament.
St. John's
Georgetown
Depaul
Marquette
Villanova
Seton Hall
Providence

I think the current short list looks more like this (in order):
Oklahoma
FSU
Virginia Tech
North Carolina
Mizzou
NC State
West Virginia
Ok State
Texas Tech

North Carolina (definitely no way)
Mizzou
NC State (don't know much about them and why they would realistically want to leave the ACC)
West Virginia
Ok State (pretty sure they are a packaged deal with OU)
Texas Tech

I'm not saying it will happen - I just think that's Slive's target.
I do believe we wait and get a FSU/ Virginia Tech combo to go to 16 after we land A&M and either Mizzou or WVA.
