This has been messed up from the beginning with leaving Ed on and paying him out fully over less time with no need to find other jobs all to get a head start, and we will make a similar hire as Florida or overpay causing us to be constantly looking at Florida paying less for equal or better results than whoever we hire. Scott throws other peoples money around, but at LSU there are more strings attached that don’t involve the best interests of the program or school. Handling Ed like he did got him completely dependent on these donors and LSU politics everyone here seems to think he is above.

What the frick is this ?

So when has Florida paid less for equal or better results?

You are a bitter little bitch aren’t you

Would love to see the argument that he is actually. Getting Petersen to Washington was fantastic, but other than that what has he done besides hand out horrific contracts by very liberally spending other people’s money?

He did bring Fisher to A&M. Red flag. I cannot dismiss that failure. He’s not the badass genius he’s made out to be.

When will Woodward’s competency be questioned for trying to hire jimbo fisher here or signing jimbo to a 10 year $100 million contact A&M in the first place? He’s an idiot

One of the top ADs in the country based on what? Not trolling, just asking.

He’s made good hires, he’s a good fundraiser, his programs don’t have ncaa trouble. That’s the entire job of an AD.

Completely agree. Tiresome to hear posters repeatedly profess some quasi-religious faith in Woodward. As if thousands of people in multiple states, including rrcruits and legitimate journalists like Dellinger, were all duped by some brilliant counterintelligence scheme hatched by Woodward and his minions. It's obvious there was interest in Riley, it's obvious LSU failed to close the deal. Ultimately, Woodward will be judged by whomever he hires instead.

That's not good. Woodward is a good AD but you've made him out to be the best thing since sliced bread. You can't even believe Riley turned down Woodward. Just like many of you thought Michigan State has no money.

Exactly and he is also a Joe Biden lover so there ya go!

false. Lack of advancement, management, etc are all the main reasons. Money abs benefits are far down on the list. Look man, this is what I did for 30 years. It is always the same as it has been. People leave because of their management and not money.

Getting Petersen to Washington was fantastic
- Averaged >4 losses a year during a time when the rest of the PAC12 was in turmoil
- Quit at age 55 because he was “burnt out”
- Hand-picked his successor who just got fired halfway through his 2nd season

this and hiring Jimbo away from a collapsing FSU program by giving him the largest guaranteed contract in the history of CFB are his two big “wins”

Teams had been trying to lure Petersen away from Boise for several years with 0 success. It clearly was not an easy thing to do, and Woodward deserves credit for making it happen. The results after the hiring are not Woodward’s responsibility.

That you forgot to respond to the rest of the post? Yea, it really is.

Fine, let’s give Woodward credit for on field results. He gets 2 conference championships, 1 playoff berth, 1 top 5 finish, and 2 other ny6 games.

Petersen went 55-26. Their other coaches this century are 86-99.

Petersen is their 2nd or 3rd winningest coach ever.

So florida and Ohio st made mistakes in hiring urban Meyer, right?

Hand-picked his successor who just got fired halfway through his 2nd season

Attempt explain how it’s Woodward’s fault that 1)Petersen decided he didn’t want to coach anymore 4 years after Woodward left washington, 2)the administration at Washington chose to hire petersen’s “hand-picked successor” 4 years after Woodward left Washington, and 3)the administration that chose to hire lake hated him enough that they actively searched for a reason to fire him 6 years after Woodward left Washington.

I’ll be waiting on pins and needles for your lack of response.

Agreed, that is the job. Top in the country, though. He’s tops in fundraising? His hires have won championships?
