Who cares what LSU pays for their football coach? At least overpaying is better than underpaying. I would be fine with it.

Crap. Win another SEC Title and we can open the checkbook.

At some point you have to say goodbye, and 5MM is well over that limit. Getting 3.75MM or whatever Les is getting is pretty good bank for coaching a college team. If he wants more to stay, it pains me to say it's time to part ways.

There is nobody out there available or interested right now who could do more with that money for LSU than CLM. Big time programs need to pay big time bucks. Bargain basement coaches don't grow on trees.

I wouldn't mind 11 wins next season.

BCS NC would be better, but as long as he is bringing in double digit wins??

I hate people.

They can have him at $5mil.
I love a lot of things about Les (his integrity, recruiting, etc) but he's probably not worth what we pay him now.
1.5 mil on his buyout would help with a nice signing bonus.
In short, UM is desperate. LSU is not.

I'm thinking like you. Just two months ago, we were praying for another school to make an offer like MI is doing now. Have we all forgotten?

The Les love/hate was divided over the season, but the one thing that everybody could agree on was he wasn't worth 3.75 million...now we're talking about a raise? lol

Let him go. He isn't worth 5mn - even for the sake of continuity.

The entire contract amount will not be guaranteed unlike his current contract.
