yeah, but does it talk to 26 years or whatever at 1 school
surely he's been offered gigs before. he's put a lot of quality backs into the league...

I like Kragthorpe a lot.
For what? I just don't like hiring anybody who was shite-canned. Even if it was at a higher position than you are hiring him at. I think it's an immediate lack of credibility with the players that would be hard to overcome.

What about this?

neither of those 3 was anywhere near the failure of Kragthorpe. Were any of those even technically fired? I'm not saying it couldn't work--clearly, it has before. I'm just saying it's a hurdle, and one we don't need to jump over. Kragthorpe's resume is not worth it.

Some people just make better coordinators than HC's.

I agree, but it's been several years since Greg Williams was fired for sucking. And his resume as a coordinator is much, much better than Kragthorpe's.

Just based on coaches currently looking for jobs or on staff in transition:
WR: Rob Ianello
OL: Ron Prince
Uhhh...uhhh...
Co-OC: Chuck Long
Co-OC: Mark Mangino
Uhhh...uhhh...
RB: Tony Alford or Jay Johnson ... toss up ... I'll go with Alford

I understand what you are coming from, but NFL is completely diff. People need to realize that.

Position coaches and coordinators are almost always let go when a head coach is fired, and has no bearing on how good a coach they are. Coaches like to install their own personnel. It's pretty much the norm.

I completely understand that and am talking specifically about Kragthorpe who got shite-canned for being an absolute failure as a HC and running the Louisville football program into the ground. Clearly, that is much, much different than Chavis not being retained after Fat Phil was fired.

OC Mark Whipple
DC John Chavis
You said to be realistic....Chavis isn't going anywhere. And Whipple would be great here.
