You almost can’t pay a great coach too much

I could make the argument that Saban is worth $50 million+ to the school, the city of Tuscaloosa and the state of Alabama.

That school’s enrollment is bursting with thousands of out-of-state students paying full tuition.

There is tons of development going on there, and that campus sparkles like no other.

Saban is extremely underpaid.

Who is that great coach? I don’t know, but the money is irrelevant if you find him.

You only pay that much once you know that they’re worth that. Gotta see results first

ETA: and the overall staff salary and investment into facilities, etc

LSU will dish out tons of money for that. But paying a coach more than Saban makes no sense

I don't think there's a coach in the country who could turn down 11+ and possibly the best coaching destination in the country, at this point its just all about who we want

Yup…if they decide to give Riley 12 million I won’t care. It’s an investment in your university that will pay off.

A few years back the University President of AL did an interview and talked about how valuable Saban was to the University. They increased donations both academic and athletic side. They increased enrollment to record numbers etc. basically he said everyone wants to be a part of the wining team and the economic impact couldn’t be overstated.

For the first time ever, Alabama has more out of state students than in state students.

Those students bring a ton of money to the school.

A winning football program brings so much indirect money to a school, city and state it’s hard to measure.

Get the GoFundme LSU coach relief fund going. I'd gladly chip in.

I’ve never complained about the price of anything LSU related, or how much coaches get paid.

I understand it and am willing to pay.

Agreed! These salaries sound crazy but the economic impact of winning makes the coaches salaries seem irrelevant
