99% of coaches have "never won a game of significance" according to college football standards.
Nobody was trying to hire him because he seemed ungettable at the time, and it was considered a coup to pull him from ND.
4 years later we all see that he was riding the wave into retirement and it didn't work out.
There's really no need to try to create a new version of events from the 2021 search.

Fair enough - but there's a really short list of active coaches with these on the resume. The guy had 300 career wins. That doesn't happen by accident or chance.

What's the purpose of posting messages like this.
People on the "Coaching Changes" board are here because they want to be excited about the possibilities and talk about it with other people who feel the same way.
If you think everyone is stupid on this board for getting excited when things look promising, then get off the message board.
