Well, they keep trying to get people to make lateral moves - ie: As a D/C from one SEC school to D/C at another SEC school. You gotta figure the odds on that aren't really great.

Is it perhaps because the only experienced and decent talent on that defense is leaving for the pros or graduation this year and any coach coming in knows they won't have shite to work with?
If 2009 was the shittiest UGA team of the decade, 2010 is going to be infinitely worse. I would not be surprised to see Richt looking for work next year.

Personally, I think Richt is a great guy, class all the way. GA has great talent and Richt doesn't get enough credit. GA has recruiting issues that LSU doesn't always have to deal with.

Wrong-o! Our defense will be infinitely better than last year you can count on that. We had the same tired, stale, defense we've had for 4 years, along with the WORST linebacker coach I've ever seen. With new blood in here I'm not saying we'll be a top 5 defense, but we'll damn sure be better. It would almost be impossible to be worse.
As for the offense, WR will be equal or better than 09. Oline will be equal or better than 09. Rushing will be equal or better than 09. The only real question on offense is QB, which granted is a big question. We'll have a RFr so we probably won't come out slinging, but if he can just minimize turnovers (something Cox couldn't do, which magnified or defensive problems) we'll be alright. We also have the best K/P tandem in the country as well. The schedule also lightens up a bit too.
2010>2009 without a doubt. Put money on that.

All of the playmakers from a shitty defense leave, it's been a month and you can't find a coach, yet the defense is going to be better?

DrEdge, with all sincerity, you have no idea what you're talking about. I follow this program religiously and what you're saying just doesn't make sense.
DT- Big time losses. We lose our 3 studs and it will hurt. We have a former top 3 DT with 2 years of PT under his belt which helps tremendously. After that it's just 4* talent that is unproven. This is the biggest ? 2010-2009=downgrade.
DE- Justin Houston came on like a madman last year and led the team in sacks even after being suspended. Him and Dobbs will have another year of experience and will form a very solid 1-2 punch. Washington got a few sacks in limited action as well. Upgrade
LB- Rennie leaves but everyone else returns. However, our ATROCIOUS linebackers coach is gone, so with somebody REMOTELY competent our unit should play better. Downgrade from Rennie, but upgrade in coaching. Call this a wash or slight downgrade.
CB- Prince Miller is finally gone. We have Boykin who is a stud on one side and soph Branden Smith on the other. Vance cuff will be a junior. Upgrade.
S- EVANS IS GONE!!! Rambo is a stud. Banks and Commings both have PT and instincts, but not as good as Reshad who is gone. We get the #2 overall JUCO in the country in Hamilton coming in who will play immediately and a top 3 overall safety in Ogletree as well. UPGRADE.
Richt has had a horrible tendency to play undeserving players just because they were upperclassmen, most notably Evans and Miller. Combine their losses with a DEFINITE upgrade in coaching, whoever we get, and yes...our defense will be better.
