The guy that posted that yesterday definitely knows what he's talking about...
I'd believe this if he said it, but I'm not so sure about you... I mean no offense by that, I'm just saying I know he's reputable, you're just another guy with a 'source' right now

Tom Herman is the kind of guy that wouldn't disrespect LSU and truthfully it's probably not that much better. But his 100% desire to remain in Texas and his Texas ties which include a GA stint at UT put It over LSU.
He's not the type to say Texas is better than LSU even if he really thinks that.
I can tell you the small handful of teams he would leave for UT was at the top of that list.
Im guessing his source is an LSU booster rather than someone close to Herman and it works out perfectly bc he'll tell you guys what you want to hear. What he said yesterday really doesn't mean anything
I usually don't post what I hear, bc last time I did, got hammered for being the first person to say Chris Hardeman didnt have a commitable offer when he was a verbal to us.
Lsu boosters- Herman doesnt think Texas is a better job.
Houston boosters- blank check for Herman but watch out for Texas(his dream school)
Texas boosters- we are firing strong and getting Herman

Bookmark this thread and i'll talk to you in a few months. Whoever posted that yesterday obviously has no idea what he's talking about.
I have a coaching buddy that told me Herman wants the UT job
now, my buddy is a huge UT guy, so hey, maybe he hears what he wants to..
If UT fires Strong after 3 years....I say "good luck with that"
Personally, I think the Big 12 sucks...the only game I consider "big time" is the OU vs UT game
and both kind of suck this year...
Not one team in that conference gives me any desire to watch football..
If I am big time Coach, that isn't enough value to get me excited about "winning championships".
Baylor? TCU, OSU...Taco Tech...
give me a break
The SEC and Big Ten are the Mack daddies of College football.
ACC, then Pac 10...
Big 12 is way down the line...
UT is the daddy for sure, but they play like a step brother...
no one really cares if they can beat OU or OSU or Baylor etc...
Herman can do whatever he wants...
LSU will still be sitting pretty

it's a 100% certainty that herman will be coaching at either baton rouge or austin next season.

Well goddamn you must be super connected in that case

You seem miserable. Just trying to prevent a huge let down, but that's inevitable with posters like you
Posted on 10/7/16 at 7:37 pm to GratefulTiger
How am I miserable because I don't believe you?
I'm quite excited about LSUs coaching possibilities, with or without Herman.
ETA btw I don't believe any insiders on this board. They are wrong 99 percent of the time and only come out when they are right.

Ok. Since you wouldn't answer my hypo, answer this question. Would Herman choose UH over LSU?

Very true and you have every reason to think that. Have been wanting Miles gone for years which makes this coaching search even more exciting. There will be alot of misinformation the next few months. We shouldn't worry bc whoever we land will be a better coach than what we had before. Trust me, I want Herman just as much as anybody else. I dont blame anyone for not believing me, not worried bc it'll play itself out.

If you read my first post in this thread you'd know the answer to that.

" can't get any closer source"
That would be Hermans wife.
So you live in Houston. ..
I don't understand the recruiting tidbit on a vetbal...
Didn't follow the player

The irony of your post.
I now have a headache. If you want to believe we can get Herman then that's fine. I'm done posting and arguing with others over what I know for a fact. I posted knowing there's no chance anyone on this site could have better source. As a lifelong fan of LSU, I felt obligated to share this, especially after reading the threads on this board. Not everything is as black and white as you guys think. Herman is not going to LSU, period. This is my last post on this matter.

Say that you are spot on about Herman. Texas is firing Strong to lock Herman up and you have a close source to Herman and he pretty much has no desire to come into the SEC or to coach LSU... Who do you feel LSU is after then assuming they would have as good of an idea as apparently you do about Herman. Also Herman does not mind the uncertainty of who his boss will be at Texas or the chaos that is their BOS?

I'll answer you since you seem civil.
I've got no sources on LSU side since Saban left but would assume Alleva's statement the other day that he's looking for a coach that has coached a "big-time program" means they know negotiations/talks with Herman's side are over. Just a hunch, but have no idea what Alleva knows.
As for who they go after, I have no idea. I do know that there have been inquiries on LSU job by big name guys that probably haven't even been mentioned here yet.
People need to realize that Herman is adamant on staying in Texas. As I said ealier, not everything is as black and white as it seems. This might be a good thing too. If LSU would have landed Herman, they'd have to match any and every team that offers him year after year. Very hard to do considering how much LSU pays its assistants.
Why not keep Orgeron and hire the biggest name OC we can find. It doesnt have to be a 5+ year contract for Orgeron, other big names could pop up.

Because we're a top program and we can do way better. Simple as that.
If O wants the job, go to a mid major and prove you can run a program longer than on an interim basis. He is not qualified to fill the job permanently. He's a crazy Cajun that's beat a bad Mizzou team and that's all people need to apparently give him keys to a Ferrari
ETA and the fact that mid majors either don't want to hire him or he doesn't want to take the nessesary steps to become a P5 head coach would both be reasons why he shouldn't be LSUs coach

Take an Advil my fellow tiger brother. I had one this morning also...
Look, I feel you...I don't care what Herman wants to do. I mean I care, but I am just a fan...if he doesn't want LSU, ok...cool...I believe you. Ive heard he likes UT alot...no surprise...it's been speculated for a while..by many fans on many boards... WE all know he likes Texas
and I know coaching hires are not black and white either
and yet, you're standing on ground in this thread "It ain't happening, Herman isn't coming to LSU"
You claim to have a highest source which can only be Herman himself or his wife...
So if isn't either of these "sources", then it's possible you're not in the "black and white" category concerning clarity of what he plans to do or not do.
People have their minds changed in the process!!!!
Just ask Nick Saban...about how he ended up in Miami...
"I was recruited like I recruit players" ..."I couldn't say no"
Posted on 10/8/16 at 10:34 am to ApexTiger
I will follow up prior post concerning "recruiting a coach"
If we had to put on a hard sell for Herman, I wouldn't want him...
Nick hated leaving CFB...he is on record for admitting it was a mistake. "I learned I am college coach, this is where I belong"
The owner of the Dolphins wouldn't take no for answer...
"If I don't take this NFL job (because he turned many others), I'll never be asked again for a big NFL job, I have to do this now or it will likely never happen in my career"....Nick reasoned...
I would hope our future coach doesn't have to think very hard about the opportunity to coach the Tigahs!

I think it should be the same case with Herman at UH. Everybody wants him and Texas will offer that stupid money with incentives much like with what happened to Saban. If he doesn't take the Texas job and stays at UH, that will say alot to the schools that will want to pursue him in the future.
I think the tidbit you guys got on how he doesnt regard the Texas job higher than LSU is simply business talk in order to get that stupid money we talked about.
As hard as this may be to believe, Herman loves it at UH. From the AD/administration to the players. Im not a UH fan by any means, but Ed Oliver is the most dominant freshman I've seen in a while. He has recruited some great players. They love the city, team and school. Now I know that may be hard to believe, but it's the reality of the situation.

Who are some of the big names you mentioned earlier. At least drop some hints.
