I would!!!

Can you imagine Steve Spurrier and LSU talents working together

50 to 60 points a game plus #1 or #2 recruiting classes year in and year out...

and making Florida and SC our best rivalary....

I would go

No, nobody wants him. He only has the best winning percentage in SEC history. But no, we still don't want him.

Nope. he's only what? 13-2 against LSU? Geesh, where do you rantards come up with these crazy coaching suggestions?

I hope to God you caught the sarcasm in that one.

Not only that, the great thing about Spurrier, you know he has connections to some of the top coordinators out there. Spurrier would bring in a solid coaching staff.

OK, I'll step out on this limb...

And just for clarification...NO, I'm not joking!!

Steve Spurrier DOES NOT EXCITE ME!

NO Doubt, he's a hell of a coach and has a NC in his pocket. That being said, He won his NC in 1996, 11 long years ago.

He's now 62 years old, how driven will he be and how long will we have him?

Besides, he hasn't been overly impressive as SC as of late....(I know, it's SC)

But even in his glory days at Florida over 12 seasons he never went undefeated. Which seems to be the new standard of acceptability for LSU Fans.

Spurrier's last three years at Florida '99-'01
29-9
Year end ranking...14th, 11th, and 3rd

Miles last three years at LSU '05-'07
32-6
Year end ranking...5th, 3rd, (yet to be determined)?

Can someone point out the major differences?

Not feeling the excitement, feel like ya'll are chasing past results.

Spurrier won 1 NC at Florida in 12 years and it took him 7 years to do it
and ya'll think he walks on water...

Miles is finishing out possible the best three year stretch in LSU football history and everyone is offering to drive him to Michigan.

I'm not getting it....SORRY!

Spurrier built what you see at Florida.

UF was nothing before SOS arrived. He took him 7 years to win a NC because he had to build that program, something he wouldnt have to do here. I read a thread on a UF board the other day and they all said it would be scarey if SOS came here and I agree.

We both want the same thing, LSU to win!!! Spurrier isn't the one. I can think of alot more candidates to replace Miles if he leaves than Spurrier.

From what I've seen, Spurrier is not the same coach taht was driven at UF, he doesn't have that same desire he had. I think he is older now, and the NFL showed him it takes a lot of hardwork. My dad worked for the Redskins when he was there, and he was on the golf course a whole lot.

I think SOS knows he will never compete for NCs at SC. Bringing him here with all the athletes and resources would bring that fire back.

No Doubt....

And Saban built what we're now seeing at LSU, It doesn't mean I want him back!

I'm not taking anything away from Spurrier's past accomplishments...just pointing out that they are quite a bit in the past.

If we do need a new HC, I'm saying my preference would be to look more to the future.

Younger, Fresher, Hungrier...

Look at what Spurrier's resume looked like in 1990 when Florida got him...that's more what I think we need. Not someone who was in that spot 17 years ago.

By the way, SC just lost to Clemson...
That's five loses in a row for the ole ball coach...
ENOUGH SAID!

Spurrier would be coaching the Tigahs to their second crystal ball if he'd been at LSU the past 3 years

Sporrier is the second best SEC coach ever. Florida had zero SEC championships and was a joke when he showed up. I can assure you if Spurrier had the future #1 draft pick in the NFL draft at QB and 2 future first round wrs he would of scored more than THREE POINTS vs Auburn last year.

NO...You can't!

You can say it, you can think it, you may even believe it....but you can't ASSURE it!

No more than I can assure you that Miles wouldn't have dropped the last FIVE in a row if he was the coach at SC.

Yes I can, just like I can assure you Coach Mac would have been more successful if Coach Bryant hadn't been at Alabama
