The paranoia over the FB heading coaching position is approaching Area 51 status. We all understand that this is not only a huge SEC coaching hire, but a huge national hire as well. Perception sometimes means more than reality.

Ask yourself what has Woodard done for LSU since he arrived?

1. Hired a fall of fame women’s basketball away from the program she practically built from the ground up that everyone said she would never leave.

2. Hired a young energetic baseball coach in his early 40’s with multiple trips to Omaha that could have stayed at his school and built a west coast juggernaut with very little pressure to win after what he’s accomplished.

3. Rantards will point to CEO’s contract extension, but someone please tell me the last time a BCD or CFP national championship winning head coach did not get a raise. Both Saban and Miles got extensions after their victory.

I personally think Woodard will shock the college football world with his hire and I believe the ball is already in motion. I think he’s found his guy and he and the agent are working on the small print.

If it's his hire, HIS GUY... Then Good!!

As long as it's not the President GUY. Because that choice might limit our selection.

Which is Not Good if your talking about a process of Looking at all the qualifications and then picking the BEST Candidate for the JOB.

What happens if it’s both?

The guy it seems like the media is pushing is Mel Tucker and we all know why if it’s looking at the president’s guy. If he is the most qualified and is Woodards guy, then so be it.
Tucker is doing great this year but I would tread lightly if it were him until we see how he does against top competition in his conference.

I have no problem, as long as it's the Most Qualified Candidate.

We will be told it is but odds are it will not be a top 10 let alone a top 5 coach.
