Who is the best DL coach available for LSU? Will the new DC have his pick of who he wants at the remaining positions including DL coach? Or will Ed O pick the DL? Or will Ed O coach DL him self?

Guessing the new DC will pick the DL coach

Wouldn’t be opposed to having Ed coach the DL to save a coaching spot

I’m sure Freeman will build his defense the way he wants .

Not saying it’s going to happen, but it wouldn’t surprise me if GA LaCouture and O coached the front

This would allow Callaway to be on the 10-member on-field staff

Lacouture and Bennie Logan do it from their analyst spots, with O chipping in.

I would just think it’s a bad selling point to freeman to tell him that he will only get 2 defensive on field assistants.

You can also get a speeding ticket for going 56 in a 55.

It’s not enforced. At all.

Not saying you can replace a full time coach with one, but these guys coach and recruit — a lot.

Whoever it is, that guy has to first and foremost be able to recruit. DL is probably the easiest position to "coach" (not that it is easy, but it's less technically difficult than the other positions). What matters more is getting the monsters to play that position. Davis was known as a "recruiter" first. I'm not worried about the teaching of the position because Orgeron is more than capable of picking up slack there. But whoever they hire MUST be able to continue to get the Maason Smiths of the world.

Bringing Tosh to town would help Freeman recruit.

I'm in.

I honestly believe that performance on the field would be the strongest recruiting tool. I want whoever is gonna make our d line absolutely dominant and the rest will take care of itself

I thought we were already cutting Joseph, a safeties coach, and special teams coach for Callaway.
