No.

However, a lot of fans are getting uneasy about it.

That the fact that a hire has not been made means that Elliott will be retained.

I don't believe that, but a lot of SC fans are freaking out right now.

If we don't hire someone by this time next week, then I'll be concerned about Elliot getting hired.

In the grand scheme of things, is he really that bad of an option? This assumes you aren't going to get Herman, Richt, Fedora or any other big name.

Does Muschamp really excite you?

He excites me, but that is only because of the current trash we have on staff now.

With the right staff, Muschamp can have success.

Elliott's biggest negative is that he doesn't have many connections in assembling a staff. Great guy, has a good reputation among SC high school coaches, and the players genuinely play for him.

But being a HC has so much more to do with being able to put together a quality staff.

Champ can realistically assemble a better staff just from a reputation standpoint.

I may be in the minority, but I like Elliott. A lot. He was dealt a shitty hand, and he played it as well as could be played. He loves the university and the state like no one we've ever had in the position. But he comes with some serious question marks, and the big money boosters aren't likely to support him, due to the results of his short tenure.

South Car is in a pickle. They have a hard time pulling big names anyway, sans Spurrier. THey won't get that again. Even Spurrier knew there was a serious ceiling there. They might could get Herman but I even see that as a long shot. Coaches once upon a time just wanted to be a head coach when guys weren't fired after 2 seasons like now. Now, they look more at it like, is this a job I can win enough to please the fan base. Do I want to take a chance and possibly mess up my carer forever (Sly Croom and Al Golden)
We wanted to talk to Jim Grobe back in 2006 before we got Nick but after Rich Rod backed out and he pretty much said he didn't want the pressure of being the Bama coach. Wouldn't even interview. Times have changed.

I think Carolina's best option is Dino Babers. Then go to Bisaccia if Babers says no.

The world is officially ending.

I agree with a tater.

I think Riley would be a great hire. Really, really hoping that they go thru with interviewing him and give him heavy, heavy consideration.

Hiring Shawn Elliott would be a colossal disaster of a coaching hire. USC would be better just nabbing a hot name offensive coordinator or someone like Jeremy Pruitt rather than settling for someone who did a pretty bad job as the interim.

If we hire Elliott, Ray Tanner should be fired. That he is even being considered is ridiculous. Him being a Camden native and loving USC doesn't make him an acceptable hire.

He was interviewed as a formality. We knew he would interview for the job when he became interim coach. He's not getting the job.
