Haven't seen this posted.
I'm just glad he's gone so he guaranteed won't be at LSU

Maybe this will help push Schumann our way?

Interesting tidbit:
quote:

Also, Georgia inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann is attracting interest for other jobs. LSU recently contacted him about its defensive coordinator vacancy, people familiar with that search confirmed. Schumann is listed as UGA’s co-defensive coordinator, even though he makes $650,000 less a year than Lanning ($1.25 million).

You joke, but this wouldn’t be a bad hire on the surface. I worry that he’s young + unproven but his upside is enormous.

Would be a great hire after all the bs we have to deal with. I don’t want to hear a “almost finalized” ever again lol

I'm mostly joking

After yesterday's shitshow, I'm done looking up these guys stats to see if they're any good.

Schuuman is one of at least 4 guys who I think at least deserve an interview. Pick who you think the best is from that group and lets get to work.

I hope it goes as smoothly as the OC and PGC hires went!

I have 3 questions, is anyone on the Lsu staff have any previous Defensive play calling on their Resume? And why would Kirby let him out the door without a promotion if he's supposed to be this good? And hire Muschamp?

What promotion would kirby give him that lsu couldn't top? He couldn't make him sole DC without pissing someone else off. Same goes for a big raise or associate HC title. Maybe he is too loyal to Kirby to jump ship, but I don't see how Kirby can legitimately give him more than he has without losing or pissing off lanning.

The muschamp hire could be to replace one of them if they happen to get hired away. Colleges do this all the time.

Well at this rate, I'm hoping Schumann gets a hard look and interview

At this point, we’ve lost the ability to be picky. A young and unproven coach with great upside is looking like that’s as good as it’s going to get.

I mean, not really. Once the disappointment of missing on Nielsen settles, a reasonable person realizes there’s still a ton of people out there to be poached that could end up being fantastic choices.

We can’t be picky because Orgeron ran his mouth and was used twice. The university won’t want to risk the embarrassment again.

This doesn’t matter at all. It makes you feel bad as a fan but what Orgeron said or didn’t say changed absolutely nothing regarding the DC position. If the Freeman and Nielsen interviews/potential hires weren’t public then literally the only thing that would change is the rant would be bitching about us not giving the top guys a look.

This is complete BS

If we get a great hire/guy, it really doesn't matter HOW we got there.

and how long was Alleva allowed to run the athletic department here? Yeah, but the university won’t risk embarrassment again. Okay.
