I think it’s $7 million until February and drops a million each year after.

If Urban hangs it up does Ohio State pony up? Any others schools? Or will he be in Ames for a few more years?

hes got a good bit of NFL buzz

not a lot of NCAA big schools open, if he doesnt move up then i think he stays put for another year. Needs to be careful that iron only stays hot for so long

So true, I'm sure Larry Fedora wishes he made his move a few years ago.

I could also see him pulling a Kirk Ferentz. Remember when he was on everyone’s short list? Not often you see a coach stay put and turn down jobs that are easier to win at.

Guess I’m not sure why he’s such a hot name. He’s doing a fine job at Iowa St of course, but I don’t see anything screaming next elite coach with him.

I understand they seem to have Oklahoma’s number but his overall record is quite pedestrian and they are 6-4 this year.”

I really don’t know much about him either but he seems to be in demand or his agent is awesome.

Good job? Yes. Miracle? No. If he was winning 10 games a year or something I would agree.

He’s a good young coach. I’m just not sure I see the superstar a lot of others are seeing.

Yeah, as illustrated by their 1 win (last year) in the last 28 years.

Iowa state has won 8 games once since 1980, hes on his way to possibly doing that in back to back seasons

They were a trainwreck before he got there, 8 TOTAL wins in the previous 3 years before he was hired

Not sure it’s this year. He looks like a Midwest type of guy. Not sure a team like Colorado, USC or an SEC team would go after him. And I’m not sure what bigger openings than Iowa State there will be this year.

Campbell is a more qualified head coach than the last head coach hires at USC, Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU. I think y'all vastly overstate the amount of "seasoning" these guys need.

I think he’s a hot name for multiple reasons. It’s not all about his W-L record. A lot of people around both college and pro football think highly of him.

His record the last couple of season is even more impressive considering the QB carousel they’ve had. They had to play a LB at times last year at QB.

They are a much better team this season since they inserted a true freshman QB.

Jacob Park was supposed to be the QB, but suddenly took a leave of absence in the middle of the season last year. Turns out he was popped for weed and quit before he could be suspended.

Maybe. I feel like tOSU would like to make a bigger “splash” hire. But I could be wrong. I think he’d be a good hire there considering the two knuckleheads that would precede him.

Iowa State is a hard place to get to 6 wins, period. That man is a miracle worker.

I respect coaches wanting to stick with a school, but these opportunities dry up quick.
