Big 12 is arse their best team is losing to Iowa State. Just let that conference die already.

Money.

Maybe he relishes the possibility of raising the Big 12 to new heights.

A $2.5M raise if he can get UH in the door

LSU is more attractive in the long run but bringing UH to be a contender is more attractive in the short run. Remember that his ambition is to be HC in the NFL.

That will certainly be discussed in an interview

From what I've seen, that's a bonus not a raise.

Herman will get a 5 million. It's paid over two years if UH gets an invite. But only if he stays at UH. His salary would become 5.5 a year for the first two years of the big 12.

look at the other teams that Herman has coached at and there lies your answer. He loves Texas. Baton Rouge would be a downgrade in lifestyle

Austin, facilities, fans, $, etc..

That said, even a guy like Herman needs to seriously gauge his belief in himself vs the realities of what that conference has been over most of the last 20 yrs..

As despite Okla's win vs a 3rd string FSU QB for hardware, and USC's el-foldo of double digit lead in 3 minutes in 2006 for Horn title, and other title game losses for both schools in that time span..

Sure, it's an easier path to the Final Four, but it's a soft conference full of 7-on-7 camp heroes..

Maybe Herman has his vs Bama with 3rd string QB and FSU bowl game magic as Texas HC if coming out of the Big12 into Playoff..or maybe his D is soft after a year of whipping B-12 cupcakes like Okla and Texas oft show in bowl games?

Coaches sign with a single University , not a conference. The sec bias is strong with you, clearly.

He went to Texas and coached there and knows all the high school coaches

It's not even a question on whether he would take Texas over LSU.

I don't think he's worried about the future of the big 12. Texas will be fine. They can control wherever the hell they want to go.

he was a GA there, he played at Cal Lutheran.

honestly i think Texas is the best job in the country by a wide margin, its a 10+ in every single category a coach could ever dream of...

except for conference. the 12 is shite right now and unstable as can be, it seems to even exist on a year by year basis.

You're right, Weinke, passed for 274 yds(more than Okla's Heupel)..like 27 of 52..couldn't score.

The 2 Pts total by FSU had me thinking of that Frosh Marcus something?
